Chapter 4240 More Preparations
Davis talked to Nadia for a while about her evolution, and she made it clear that she didn't want to do it now. He understood the reason why since she wanted to go to the Nether Dimension and meet the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan.
"Nyoran is also waiting for you. However, both of you need to wait. Let's first deal with the three things at hand."
"Mhm~"
Nadia nodded. She didn't have any doubt that Davis would make a mistake in planning as she had always seen him win even without having to make a single move by himself. She simply continued to snuggle with him and watched her children train hard.
After some time, Davis left and approached Nyoran's palace.
He saw that she was perched on the dome above the palace, her giant magical beast form forming a stark difference with the moonlight in the sky. When she opened her eyes, it gleamed with a ghostly white light but with a layer of mystical purple that indicated her divergence.
She spread her purple-black wings as though greeting Davis before folding them back and adjusting her position on top of the dome.
"Good morning~" Nyoran yawned, "What is up?"
"The moon." Davis smiled.
"Oh, it's night already? No wonder I feel snuggly."
Nyoran appeared sleepy as her eyes seemed to be on the verge of closing.
He talked with her for a while before disappearing elsewhere and appearing near another lone palace in the far mountains.
He saw the place reeking with death energy and poison, making him chuckle.
"Seems like Myria really taught you well…"
Davis had just spoken when a black-robed figure appeared outside the palace. She flew like a specter and threw a deadly dagger at him.
Instead of dodging, Davis raised his hand and received it in his hand.
*Puchi~*
It stabbed him quite neatly, piercing through his palm. Blood didn't flow. Instead, they changed colors quickly to a deathly black, appearing poisoned.
"You-!"
Rokushi Mirai hurriedly strode forward, "Why didn't you dodge?"
Davis ignored her and looked at the black-silver dagger that had a fang-like edge at the end. Once it stabbed, it actually changed shape into a fang, forming into a hook that couldn't be gotten rid of quickly.
It impressed him quite a bit as it penetrated his chaotic body's base physical defense. "What a wonderful death-attributed dagger. You hired Sophie to forge this for you, didn't you?"
He looked at her as he asked.
Rokushi Mirai looked at him, her face pale as she thought he was going to die quickly and bring her trouble, but seeing that he still looked fine, her expression became cold.
This man had grown even more powerful. With her connection to the poison, she sensed that the death poison wasn't penetrating more than he desired. It shocked her, wondering what kind of body he possessed as there was no sign of him using his own energy to block it.
Taking a breath lightly and exhaling, she answered.
"Mhm. I had a few kilograms of unrefined and impure death-attributed ores."
"I know." Davis nodded.
He did steal her spatial ring once before giving it back, after all. He wasn't interested in it since they weren't better than what he had, but it seems like Sophie was able to refine it well and bring the purity out.
Rokushi Mirai wasn't amused. She raised her hand, asking for her dagger back.
"Oh? You can't just harm me and want this dagger back, right?"
"You-"
"Just kidding." Davis chuckled. He pulled the dagger out, causing blood to spurt out as the hook sliced against more flesh and removed it.
He then erased traces of his blood from the dagger before throwing it back to Rokushi Mirai.
"…"
Rokushi Mirai still wasn't impressed when she saw him heal from her dagger so easily. The death poison she was so proud of would take out a Mid Stage Empyrean within three seconds, but it was nothing in front of him. However, she still had the confidence that it would work against others.
"What do you want?" Nonetheless, she finally asked the question.
"Well, do you want to go to the secret realm in the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm or the Nether Dimension?"
"…?" Rokushi Mirai inclined her head.
"You have no idea?" Davis looked dumbfounded.
She simply shook her head, causing him to blink before he nodded. He learned that Rokushi Mirai was pretty laidback and did nothing other than cultivate. She didn't do any mischief or evil at all, which earned her place in this mini-realm.
But to think she didn't pay attention to any matter at all.
He felt that she was too defenseless.
Nonetheless, he explained what was up, causing Rokushi Mirai to make a decision a while later.
Davis left, but he kept the poison inside his left hand contained. He didn't show off but was analyzing her death poison with soul sense, wanting to make it his own power. The chances were very low, but if he could produce poison with his own death energy, he understood it would be much more fatal.
Even an additive property to his already strong death energy was enough.
After speaking with Rokushi Mirai, Davis visited Vereina. Her place was also located on the far outskirts, where she lived alone.
"Ah, you finally came to meet me." Vereina giggled as she came flying out of her palace.
Her black hair swayed in the wind, and she instantly removed the black veil that she had on her face, flashing him a lovely smile.
Davis pursed his lips, "Not really. I just wanted to let you know that there's one more place I would like you to go after your current mission."
"Where to?"
"To the Nether Dimension."
"Oh?" Vereina blinked before she nodded, "I am a bit aware of how dangerous it is, as I heard from Nyoran. You want me to go there and protect them?"
"Exactly."
Vereina thought for a moment before she answered.
"If that is what you want… if that is what it takes to earn your favor, then I will do it."
"…" Davis blinked, "That's not fair. I'll be willing to pay you compensation, though."
"Right now, the only compensation I want is your affection." Vereina looked at him boldly.
"…"
Davis looked troubled, "Alright, fine. I'll go look for someone else."
He turned to leave.
"No, no! I'll do it!"
Vereina instantly yelled out, causing Davis to look at her with a grin.
"Ah, you set me up!~" Vereina placed her hands on her hips and glared at him.
"You're the one who quickly fell for it." Davis shrugged smilingly before he went solemn, "But truly speaking, I feel you're the best fit for their expedition to the Nether Dimension. Not only are you experienced in surviving, you are also a menace."
"…" Vereina blinked at the last word, but she smiled, "I'm glad you think of me highly. I'll accept this mission."
"Great!"
After speaking with Vereina and dodging her flirtatious words, he left and appeared elsewhere.
"Davis! Come, come." A turtle beckoned him.
"What have you been doing all this time without seeing us?" A wolf eyed him.
"What the.. You've grown strong so quickly again, haven't you?" A crow gawked at him.
"It's been a long time, fellas."
Davis raised his hand and greeted. He saw that his three brothers were gathered and drinking together on top of a small mountain hill right between their three palaces at quite a distance.
