Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family
Chapter 366 - 366: Motivation to win“Woah, woah, woah, boss! Chill!”
It took the combined strength of Jaku, Zion, and Fudge to prevent Michael from going through the portal and showing himself to the girls.
“What is she saying?!” Michael stressed. He could only watch on with horror as his mother began telling stories of Michael from his childhood.
“Did you know that Michael was such a cute little baby? He never left our side when he was a kid, always wanting to sleep next to our bed,” Lylia said, reminiscing happily about the past.
“Awww, that’s cute,” Yuna said, chuckling.
Meanwhile, Michael who was hearing everything unfold couldn’t help but bury his head on the ground.
“I was only doing that to learn more about mana absorption!” he screamed to the screen, but the boyz just patted his back and consoled him.
Michael couldn’t believe that all of the embarrassing things he had to do to act like a child was getting aired out at this moment.
It must be mentioned they were all currently embroiled in a battle against the Bastard Bandits. Yet, Lylia still couldn’t stop gushing about him.
“I would like to know more about Lord Michael…for research purposes,” Sheina said, secretly jotting down everything she heard in a notebook.
Umisu suddenly appeared behind her, spooking the white-scaled Dragonborn.
“Um..sis…give me a copy of that too,” she said meekly, before swinging her spear and toppling five bandits with a gust of wind, flinging them to crash into a large boulder.
Vivi opened and closed her mouth, wanting to speak. But she was too shy.
“Vivi, do you have something to say?” Yuna asked her while slashing three bandits with her rapier.
“I…want to know more about Michael too! He’s…he’s a nice guy that helps us out,” she said.
“Fufufu…of course, of course. I’ll tell you all about it,” Lylia said enthusiastically. “He’s such a little cutie! I remember back when I would wash with him in the baths…”
Michael was nearing his limit. He couldn’t take more of hearing this.
Lucky for him, two bandits finally put their notice onto Lylia.
“What are you girls blabbing about?!” he grunted. “I’ll cut you all into pieces!”
The bandit rushed towards Lylia with his knife glowing with the power of Fire.
“Don’t interrupt her!” Sheina growled, shooting off an arrow that struck him directly in the ribs.
“Ow!”
“….we were about to…we were about to…WE WERE ABOUT TO HEAR SOMETHING PRECIOUS!” Umisu shouted, lunging towards the bandit and flipping her spear upwards.
The bandit, already injured from the arrow, almost passed out as the spear hit his chest. Then, he found himself rising up to the skies through a huge gust of wind that followed the spear.
After almost reaching the clouds, the bandit fell back down into the forest, directly in front of Yuna.
“I’m sorry,” she said. “It’s your fault for angering us girls.”
Yuna twirled with her rapier, and as she swung her weapon, it seemed to have turned into a thin fabric that gracefully flowed into the air.
Just as the bandit was about to fall into the ground head-first, Yuna straightened her rapier and thrusted it at his chest, breaking his armor and pushing him into a tree.
“Me…me too! I’m…I’m angry too!” Vivi shouted with enthusiasm.
“Go, miss Vivi. Deal the final blow,” Sheina said.
Vivi gleefully pointed at the bandit, and her loyal Earth Golem started to pound him into the ground. With each swing of its giant boulder-like hands, the bandit sank deeper and deeper into the ground until all that was left of him was a human-shaped hole in the floor.
“Good job Vivi!” Yuna praised her, offering a high five.
“Yeah!” Vivi headbutted Yuna’s palms.
The other bandits were triggered once they saw how pitiful one of their comrades became. Finally, three bandits set their sights onto Lylia in an attempt to deal with the weakest link of the group.
As they charged towards her, Lylia picked up her cup of tea and began drinking it. Then, she used her other hand to cast a magic circle around her wrist, with green and brown colors emanating from her body.
Three large vines erupted from the ground and immediately wrapped themselves around the bandits.
“What the?!”
“I can’t get out!”
Struggling, they tried to cut themselves free, but found their knives getting chipped upon clashing with the vines!
The power from these magical vines was suffocating them. It was overpowering their own magic to such a degree that they couldn’t even bring out their own mana!
“What the hell?!”
“How is she so strong?!”
Finally, one of them realized who they were dealing with. He squinted at Lylia, who was wearing an expensive yellow tunic.
Soon, the image of a fearsome woman with bloodstained mage robes coalesced into his eyes.
“No…no way! Those vines…she’s the…she’s the Earthen Witch of the West! What’s a 7-star magician doing here?!”
The bandits were horrified to find out that they were facing against a legendary adventurer that even the Bastard Bandits were wary of.
She had disappeared for many years, with many thinking that she had died. But as it turned out, she was alive and well!
“Run!” the bandits screamed. But unfortunately for them, it was already too late. They had picked a fight they were never going to win.
Sheina took out five arrows from her quiver and loaded it all onto her bow. And with a single shot, she released ten copied arrows imbued with magic towards the fleeing bandits. It struck them directly in the back, pinning them to a tree.
Umisu thrusted her spear, with a large gust of air emanating from the tip. It displaced everything it touched; trees, boulders, and bandits alike. They felt themselves getting blown away by a massive tornado before crashing back down on the ground, unconscious.
Yuna turned into a blur as she rushed through a line of bandits fleeing. By the time she reappeared in front of them, their bodies had already been inundated with a thousand cuts.
Vivi’s golem destroyed everything around her, trapping bandits in a quagmire that slowly swallowed them deeper.
Meanwhile, Lylia’s vines continued to sprout all over the forest floor, dragging horrified bandits by their ankles and bringing them back to the camp.
“Nice. That’s a hundred more bandits to our tally. By my estimation, that takes us into the lead against the boys,” Sheina said, ticking off the box in her notes.
“Girls, if we win, I’ll get Michael to show you all how cute he is when you pinch his cheeks,” Lylia said.
“Yes! I want to see that!” Sheina said, furiously writing in her notebook.
“…me too…,” Umisu muttered.
“Hehehe….maybe I can consume the embarrassment emotion from Michael too,” Vivi said.
“I wonder how he’ll look, fufufu,” Yuna chuckled.
“We’ll make sure that he won’t get away from this,” Lylia added. “Sheina dear, have the boys do all the work in the Reborn company so that we can have him for ourselves for one week!”
“Agreed!” they all chanted.
Meanwhile, Michael was in despair as he heard what they were planning. The worst part was that they were in the lead, meaning they would likely win!
“Guys. We have to hunt more bandits. Now.”
