Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 365 - 365: Spying on the other team

Michael soon heard about the victory of the engineers and the construction workers. Their overwhelming triumph proved that even ordinary Reborn could summon great powers within themselves during times of crisis. This was what exactly he hoped for.

Ever since he found out about Flarecorp and their intentions of conquering Angora City, he had always worried about the innocent citizens that would get involved in the fight.

He didn’t worry about the Dragonborns, the Shadows, nor himself; they could protect themselves.

But he did worry about the normal, regular people who would get caught up in the mess of a war. Thankfully enough, he had given them plenty of ways to protect themselves if anything ever happened, which he would make sure didn’t happen in the first place.

“We had a good harvest of bandits today!” Zion chirped. “I bet we’re in the lead, right? The girls definitely won’t get more than us.”

“Hohoho…I wouldn’t be so confident, young Zion. They are quite strong even in the olden days—at least, I think so.”

“Must be so nice, Grieve. Do not remember anything.” Jaku commented. “That way, I won’t have to bother myself with thinking…”

“Everyone, there is an easy solution! We should just find out! I can easily infiltrate their group and spy on them while they fight!” Fudge said, his smile definitely bordering on evil.

“Ooooh! Yeah, do that! Do that!” Zion jumped up and down with Fudge.

Michael, of course, had to be the voice of reason and deny such violation of privacy.

“Fudge…we have to play fair,” he reminded them.

“But Master, we aren’t cheating! We’re just looking. There’s nothing wrong with that!” Fudge argued, which Zion quickly agreed to by furiously nodding.

“Why would we even do that? It’ll just add more pressure for us,” Jaku said, yawning. “I say, we just do what we do and just have a relaxing day later and eat some McTony’s? What do you say?”

“I would love to, young Jaku,” said Grieve. “But oh, I forgot that I don’t have a stomach, hohoho!”

Meanwhile, Fudge and Zion kept on begging Michael for his permission.

He stopped and put his foot down. “No,” he said adamantly. There was a certain code of honor with these kinds of games, and it was something that Michael did not want to break.

After all, he considered himself as a gentleman.

“That’s the end of it,” he said, walking away from the two.

“But Master! What if your mother is saying some weird stuff about you to Yuna?”

Michael stopped in his tracks, completely frozen. Dozens of images and memories passed through his mind, specifically that of his childhood and the embarrassing things he had to do to act as a child.

Fear took hold of him. If Vivi could see him right now, she would see how terrified he was.

The feeling was like having your favorite artist seeing your embarrassing baby photos, one that was completely naked. The horror!

Zion and Fudge both poked at him. “Master?”

“….”

Fudge sighed. “Haaa…I guess, you’re right, Master. We shouldn’t spy on them. If they find out, they’ll just use it as an excuse if we win.”

Before Fudge could hop away, Michael suddenly grabbed him from the top of his head and turned him around.

“…Master?”

“Wait…,” Michael said, with his eyes obscured by his bangs. “Maybe…we should have a little peek. Just a little.”

And so, the Boyz ended up stopping their progress to spy on what the girls were doing.

Unlike the Boyz who went on a hunting spree all around the forest, the girls on the other hand were a little bit more lax and casual.

They had made a little comfy camp, complete with their own customized tents and even furniture. It was as if they were just having a fun, relaxing stroll in the forest.

Sheina and Umisu’s tents were normal, consisting of just a flatbed and a box to store their belongings.

Yuna’s tent was a little bigger, as she liked the comfort of a large space. She was also sharing a bed with Vivi, so it was just enough for the two of them.

Those three tents were nothing out of the ordinary.

But when it came to Lylia’s tent, it was two times bigger than all three combined!

It was complete with a kitchen, a living room, and a portable bathroom. There was even a generator present to power up all the lights and the electric fans that she set up all around the camp.

She had been too accustomed to living in luxury back in the Nation of Reborn that she couldn’t live without it anymore.

Michael, as he and the Boyz watched from Fudge’s clone set up atop a tree near their camp, couldn’t help but slap his own forehead in disappointment.

“Is she camping or fighting bandits?” he asked himself.

“I’m so envious! I want a tent like that too!” Jaku said, his eyes widening as soon as he saw the queen-sized bed in Lylia’s tent.

They were all watching in front of a large boulder, where Fudge had projected a permanent shadow teleportation circle that showed what was happening on the other side of the clone.

They watched as the girls were gathered near the campfire, drinking tea as they passed the time. They looked very comfortable.

“Hehe…they’re not even hunting bandits! We’re definitely winning this game,” Zion chuckled, making faces at Sheina on the screen.

But just as he said that, about forty or so bandits emerged from the bushes. They had the girls camp surrounded from all sides.

The girls didn’t seem to be surprised at all. They calmly put down their tea and stretched their bodies as they stood up.

“This is the hundredth bandit we’ve faced today. A good harvest,” Sheina said, writing down in her notebook.

“WHAT?!” Zion screamed from behind the screen. “We’ve been going around the forest all day to search for bandits, and all they’re doing is sitting in their tents?! Unfair!”

Their tactic worked because the bandits see the girls as an easy target. But they couldn’t be more wrong.

The girls raised their weapons and attacked the bandits even before they said a word.

Sheina pulled out arrow after arrow as she used her Mithril Artifact bow to pin multiple bandits to a tree. Her arrows curved all over the place, even hitting targets behind her. All she did was fire arrows, and the arrows did all the work for her.

Umisu used her spear, swinging it around the bandits that approached her. And with each swing, the wind that gathered from her spear turned even more and more stronger before it eventually resulted with the creation of a tornado with each swing. Bandits found themselves getting thrown high up into the air despite holding onto a tree.

Yuna used her rapier with extreme precision and speed. This was the first time Michael saw her in action and couldn’t help but be impressed. Her moves were not even something he could replicate. She seemed to dance with every move, before the bandits found themselves cut in a million areas.

Vivi created an Earth golem that thrashed its giant fists around, destroying any bandit unfortunate enough to be near it.

Meanwhile, Lylia stayed in her seat, letting the young ones do all the work. She sipped tea while looking over at Yuna.

“You’re doing great, dear! I must say, you’re such a physically talented woman! I wonder what would happen if you ended up with someone equally talented in magic? Someone like my son…maybe your kids will be tremendous geniuses hihihi!”
