MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1421 - 1421: The Great Veldanyr Labyrinth (8)

Whoosh!

As Alpha’s presence within the labyrinth gradually disappeared, the eight groups began to discuss their next moves now that the labyrinth had moved onto its second phase.

“So, what do we do now?” asked Thomas as Alisa and the others looked at Valyr with curiosity.

“Hmm…” Pondering over what would be the best course of action for their group, the young man briefly rubbed his chin as he thought back to the hours of incessant conquest they did over the unoccupied rooms.

Considering that they had a 30 minute head start over the other groups, Valyr’s group took it easy for a short while, using the opportunity they’ve given themselves to recuperate and get a better idea of what the labyrinth had to offer.

Using the surplus of Labyrinth Points they had as the leading group, Valyr eventually bought an item from the labyrinth that increased their point gain, prompting everyone to change their minds as they began to claim as many rooms as possible once more.

Making use of the three-pronged strategy they used during the head start given to them, Valyr’s group was able to increase the number of rooms that fell under their territory, easily occupying 10 rooms in the span of 10 minutes.

However, not wanting the dominance Valyr’s group had over them to continue, the seven other groups decided to redirect some of their people to distract their group as much as possible.

With the strength of the two auxiliary groups only being slightly above average thanks to the combat experience of the other members, the seven groups were effectively able to stop these two groups in their tracks, slowing down the speed at which Valyr’s group claimed more rooms.

Unfortunately for them, rather than perceive the seven groups’ actions as a threat to not claim any more rooms than they already had, Valyr decided to double down and showcase a bit more of his power, taking the lead in every new room they appeared in.

Because of that, the speed and efficiency at which they claimed the rooms significantly increased, with a single spell from the young man easily decimating the 100 enemies that spawned within the room.

Of course, this showcase of power caused the seven other groups to fall into a dilemma, wondering to themselves whether it was worth it to hinder the two auxiliary groups to slow down the group’s overall pace.

In the end, the seven decided that hindering the group Valyr was in was the most important, especially considering that the rate at which they claimed rooms far surpassed what the two auxiliary rooms could achieve in the same time.

Then again, even though they knew that this was the best action to ensure their groups would be able to claim more rooms from the labyrinth, they forgot to take one thing into consideration.

…Did they have enough strength to combat against Valyr?

The answer was a resounding no.

“There really isn’t any reason for us to start claiming the territory of the other groups,” said Valyr after snapping back to reality. “After all, how many rooms have we claimed? And how many have the other groups claimed?”

“…Seriously though, how many rooms have we claimed?”

“Out of the 512 rooms that could be occupied within the labyrinth, 186 of them had been claimed by us, bringing our total to 187 rooms if we include our spawn room,” Meria promptly replied, causing Valyr to nod as he turned to look at Lucques.

“And how many Labyrinth Points a minute are we generating with many rooms?”

“Er…” Seeing that the young man wanted him to answer the question, Lucques forced the gears in his mind to start turning.

“Since it’s an arithmetic sequence based on the multiples of 6… take the first and last term… multiply by the number of elements… divide it by 2…”

“…Damn.” Of course, with Meria showcasing great talent in maths, it did not take long for her younger sibling to arrive at the answer. “With the root’s buff and 183 rooms to our name, we’re generating about 100,000 Labyrinth Points a minute.”

Hearing those words, Valyr’s eyes widened in surprise.

“And if we were to claim all 512 rooms?”

“Close to 800,000 Labyrinth Points a minute with the root’s buff,” answered Meria, causing everyone near them to suck in a breath of cold air.

“…I guess we’re going to be in for a surprise once I take a look at the pedestal, then.” With those words, Valyr slowly made his way towards the pedestal, taking in a deep breath to calm down the anticipation Lucques and Meria’s words made him feel.

‘I wonder how many items can we buy from the pedestal this time around?’

Placing his hand on the pedestal, the young man thought to himself that having a million Labyrinth Points under their belt would probably be enough for them to obtain a lot of stuff.

However, once he saw how many points they currently had, he realized he had underestimated just how much 100,000 points a minute actually was.

Labyrinth Points: 18,565,369

‘Holy shit…’ Sucking in yet another breath of cold air out of shock, Valyr stared at the eight-digit figure for quite some time before eventually calming down.

‘Relax… you still have one month in this labyrinth.’

‘If your group already earned over 18 million points in less than half a day, how much more would you have by the end of the month?’

With those thoughts acting as anchors in his mind, the young man began to scroll through the list of treasures available for them to redeem.

At first, he thought that the 18 million points they’ve accumulated was more than enough to render the labyrinth out of stock.

Though, as he continued to scroll further down the list, he noticed that the prices attached to them almost grew exponentially in size, causing him to realize that Alpha’s earlier words might not be without reason.

‘At the very least, we have enough points to buy the items that come after the first root.’

Wanting to boost their point gains even further for the entire month, it went without saying that Valyr prioritized buying the special items first, purchasing the second and third root of the item series.

Though he wanted to buy the root that came after the third one, the young man was immediately dissuaded after seeing that the fourth root cost close to 80 million points.

In comparison, the third root only cost 3 million.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Confirming his purchase of the second and third root, Valyr grabbed the two roots with an eager gaze as he aimed to use them as soon as possible.

However, just as he was about to do so…

“Sir Ataraxia…!”

“Could you please spare a minute with us…?”
