MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1420 - 1420: The Great Veldanyr Labyrinth (7)“…[Magimillia’s Blaze].”
Whoosh!
Bang!
With a solemn expression on his face, Valyr conjured a large wall of fire across one of the corridors, carrying with it the might of a peak Rank 4 class holder.
“We’ve decided to claim this room for ours,” said the young man soon after, peering at the group that stood on the other side of the blazing wall.
“Damn it!” cursed the leader of the other group, glaring at the young man with intense hatred in his eyes. “Do you really think your group alone would be able to stop us?”
Hearing those words, Valyr faintly smiled in response, only to cast two more walls near the two remaining paths the other groups could enter.
Unsurprisingly, just like the first group that cursed them out, the two other groups that hoped to reap the effort Valyr’s group had put in for themselves showed intense hate towards the young man before them.
However, with their combat strength severely lacking in comparison to him, the three groups that hoped to take claim of the last room eventually returned to their respective territories.
And with that, Valyr’s group was able to claim the last unoccupied room within the labyrinth.
Whoosh!
Sensing the inexplicable connection the rooms they occupied extend towards the room they just cleared, a faint smile appeared on the young man’s face as he soon began to feel energy coursing through the room.
Double checking their surroundings to make sure no other group would ambush them just as they were their most vulnerable, it was only after he confirmed that the coast was clear did the young man let out a wide sigh of relief.
“Let’s head back to spawn, shall we?”
At those words, Valyr and the ones that accompanied him eventually made their way back to spawn, immediately being greeted by the members of the group that stayed put.
“How did the fight for the last room go?” asked Thomas as he looked at the young man with curiosity. “Did you guys get ambushed?”
“As if.” Valyr let out a bit of laughter as the ones that accompanied him looked at the man with smiles on their faces. “I made sure to stop them before they could even attempt to ambush us.”
“So that means…” Hearing those words, Thomas’ eyes lit up in excitement.
However, just as he was about to finish his sentence, an ever-familiar voice began to resound throughout the entire labyrinth once more.
“Well, well, well… color me surprised.”
“To be honest, I had a feeling that the fight for the final room would be cutthroat,” said Alpha to everyone. “After all, each of you would massively benefit from even an additional room.”
“Yet, even against the pressure of three separate groups hoping to take advantage of their efforts, one person was able to resolve the problem and claim what was rightfully theirs.”
The puppet let out a slight chuckle after that.
“Anyway…”
Figuratively clearing its throat to catch everyone’s attention, Alpha’s tone turned serious as it shared an announcement that immediately made most of the groups pale in fear.
“Now that the last unoccupied room has been claimed by a group… the labyrinth shall move onto Phase 2 of its mechanics.”
“…Relax, will you?” Taking note that most of the groups were beginning to listen to its every word with slight trepidation, Alpha paused for a bit before letting out a sigh as it understood what was going on.
“Just because I said we’re moving onto Phase 2 doesn’t mean I’ll be forcing the eight of you to fight until one group remains as the victor.”
“Master wouldn’t want that to happen.” Alpha figuratively shook its head.
“Instead, the reason why I call it Phase 2 is because the eight of you have moved away from the need to claim as much territory as possible.”
“Now, with everyone having their own respective territories, it is up to you if you plan on remaining content with the territory your group currently has… or aim to take another group’s territory in the hopes of expanding what you already have.”
“Always keep in mind to make your decision wisely,” reminded the puppet to everyone. “After all, you never know when the group that decides to target you actually wants to remove your entire group from the labyrinth.”
Though its words still put almost everyone on edge, Alpha more or less expected the reaction it get, faintly nodding to itself as it continued with what it had to say.
“In any case, before I leave you eight to your own devices once more, I’ll be asking the leaders of the eight groups to give me the names that best represent them.”
“…You don’t expect me to keep referring to the eight of you by the time you entered the labyrinth, right?”
Hearing those words, the leaders of the eight groups began to tell Alpha their chosen names one by one, prompting the latter to note it down in its memory.
Though, rather than tell Alpha the names of their respective guilds outright, the eight seemingly came to a unanimous decision to have their group names vaguely hint the guilds they were a part of.
“…Alright.” Remaining silent for a bit, Alpha eventually gave its final announcement for the current phase. “I’ve gotten all of your names.”
“In order of when each group entered the labyrinth, the groups are: Blue Team, Kumquat, Stargazers, Two Wolves, Black Blades, Blood Petal, Greater Beyond, and Rooster Gang… whatever that means.”
“Note that the eight of you can stay in this labyrinth for up to an entire month,” the puppet reminded everyone. “If you’re still here even after a month has passed, I’ll kick you out of the labyrinth.”
“Of course, before that happens, I’ll facilitate the final exchange of the Labyrinth Points you’ve earned the past month.”
“With all of that said… I wish all of you the best of luck once more and I hope to see most, if not all of you still here once the entire month passes.”
