Death... and me

Chapter 3376: The Next Plans

Chapter 3376: The Next Plans

After leaving the Flintstone Clan, Rifindio returned to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm with Roam, leaving only Kentucky and Rean to travel around. Obviously, they quickly changed their appearances and auras so they wouldn't be recognized.

Still, as Kentucky flew, Rean was paying attention the the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. To be more specific, the book Roan now had in his hands. "So? What does it say?"

Roan perused the book for a few moments, finally closing it. Looking at Rifindio in front and knowing Rean was waiting for an explanation outside, he began. "The Great Void Shifter is indeed using the Abyssal Beasts' innate ability. Abyssal Paths can truly connect different Universes. Still..."

There wasn't much information in the book as the Great Void Shifters were things created in other Universe. However, it did mention everything regarding the topic that was related to this Universe. For example, it mentioned how the Werdlem Empire came to this place and even set up not one but quite a few Great Void Shifters. It's just that most of them were dismantled after the Universe was conquered.

At the moment, there were only four Great Void Shifters. One, obviously, was located in the Supreme Palace. The other three were in the Divine Realm, Underworld, and Heavens. Still, the Supreme Palace had the final say on when or if those three other Great Void Shifters could be used.

Because of that, the Great Void Shifters of those three different realms haven't been used in millions of years. If someone wishes to use the Great Void Shifter, they will have to request authorization from the Supreme Palace directly. Not only that, but using a Great Void Shifter costs a monumental amount of energy. Definitely not something just a single expert would be willing to pay.

That said, any travel between different Universes was usually done through Spaceships, and they took many years. Nonetheless, it was much cheaper than the Great Void Shifters.

However, a piece of information regarding those Great Void Shifters caught Roan's attention. "It says here the main reason for the astronomical cost of the Great Void Shifter is the danger it carries."

Rean immediately understood. "As the system mentioned, the abyssal paths can truly kill high-level experts. We heard from Herbert how the person who first stumbled on that pseudo-path ended up disintegrating in front of his group. And that was just a very short and not complete path to a location in this region. It is easy to imagine just how much stronger this disintegration effect is within longer paths, especially paths connecting different Universes."

"Exactly," Roan nodded. "Most of the energy used in the Great Void Shifters goes into the protecting measures so that those crossing it won't be destroyed. In exchange, it truly works in the same way as the one we used. We could arrive in another universe in a matter of minutes at most. Also..."

"You don't need to pay for the extra cost of protection against the Abyssal Path's power," Rifindio also understood. "You only need to pay for the shifter to send you to the other side."

"That's correct," Roan confirmed that too. "In any case, we can't trust this book completely. After all, how long has it been since it was written? Rifindio, you only mentioned a single Great Void Shifter to us, right?"

"Yes," Rifindio didn't forget that. "But it was as I mentioned. I don't know much about it and only heard a little bit. I mean, why would I care about such a thing? There was no way I could ever pay to use the shifter. The one I heard about is indeed the Divine Realm's one, though. As for the Heavens and Underworld, I'm not truly sure if there are Great Void Shifters there or not."

"What about the Supreme Palace?" Rean asked.

"I believe it must have one, even though I hadn't heard about it before," Rifindio said after thinking a little bit about it. "But it goes without saying that only the top brass could possibly get close to it. I would rather ignore that one for safety's sake."

"Do we have a reason to go to the Underworld or Heaven?" Kentucky asked, joining the conversation. "Because if we do, perhaps it would be good to consider using the Great Void Shifters on those locations instead."

"The Heavens would be a great place for me and my Light Element, definitely good for cultivation," Rean mentioned. "Naturally, the Underworld would be more useful for Roan."

Roan pondered a bit. "Do you remember the Underworld Light Trees?"

"Underworld Light Trees?" Rifindio had never heard about it.

However, Rean and Kentucky remember that very well, so they explained to Rifindio. Back then, the Underworld Light Trees were plants they used to survive in the Swamp of No Return. However, they don't grow there. Instead, there was a specific place in the Underworld where they grew.

The Underworld, as a place of thick dark element concentration, naturally rejects the light element in it. Because of that, most of the Light Element of the Underworld, even if there wasn't much of it, gathered in a single place, being pushed to that location by the huge amount of Dark Element in there.

Of course, even if there was only a little bit of Light Element in the Underworld, when taking the entire Underworld into consideration, that place ended up having a huge concentration of Light Element.

"Do you think there is a similar place in the Underworld?" Rean asked.

"There is a possibility," Roan answered. "It would be worth taking a look once we give that girl back to Gian and complete the system's quest."

"If it is like it was back in the Lisan Universe, then that place is also a great location for Celis," Kentucky added. "After all, as the only place where all the Light Element was pushed to, that was also where you found the biggest concentration of plant life. Wood and Earth Elements were quite high there as a result."

Rean and Roan hadn't thought about it. "Then it seems like we truly must pay a visit to the Underworld to take a look."

And as always, any Golden Tickets and Stones are welcome. ;)
