Chapter 3363 Compliment
Samalia wasn't any better. Her group also didn't have anyone in the Void Tempering Realm. In fact, her weakest member was in the Late Stage of the Space Bending Realm, which was even higher than Zantie's weakest one. Samalia looked at Zantie, who nodded back at her. Then, she took a look around, finding someone from the other groups waiting there. "You there! You seem pretty weak. What's your cultivation?" They still couldn't use their Divine Senses.
The guy didn't know whether to laugh or cry, but he wouldn't refuse to answer a Peak Space-Time Realm cultivator's question like Samalia's. "I'm in the Middle Stage of the Void Tempering Realm, Lady Samalia..."
She immediately pointed at the amphora. "Touch it."
Looking at how Rean's group came out without any problems, the guy nodded, thinking about it as an opportunity. "Understood."
However, Zantie stopped him. "Wait a moment!" Then, he looked back at Herbert. "What can he expect inside? How did your guys open the path for you?"
Herbert glanced at Rean, and Rean understood it would be better if he talked. "Seniors, there is a trial inside the amphora. At least for me, there were three challenges, and once I completed all three, I was given the opportunity to bring my group inside as well."
"What kind of tests?" Samalia asked, narrowing her eyes.
"Random," Rean quickly answered. It wasn't a lie. The last test, for example, had nothing to do with formations. So, he could only guess it was random. "My first test, I had to destroy a Slaughtering Formation. In my second test, I had to get rid of a big crystal of Starlight Energy that shot the same kind of attacks as the rays of light that killed many outside the Pyramid. Well, it's a tower now. As for the last one, I had to find a way past an obelisk that was protected by a Starlight Barrier."
"This..." The guy who was about to touch the amphora looked at Zantie and Samalia. "I know pretty much nothing about formations. And if I find myself having to deal with those rays of light that disintegrate one's body, I'm not confident at all that I can survive."
Rean then warned the guy. "If you do manage to complete the test, you will find a mark on the ground that you can use to select up to four individuals to bring into the Library with you. I obviously selected senior Herbert and my companions."
Zantie then pointed at Rean. "It's better that you go in, then. Pass the tests, and then bring Samalia and me inside. Otherwise, I might as well get rid of you here."
Rean shrugged. "Sir, I would love to help, however..."
Rean then approached the amphora, and just as he was about to touch it...
*Bzt!*
The barrier protecting it repelled his hand. "Those who have made their way inside once can't try it again."
Zantie's mood turned even worse. He had been repelled by that same barrier several times, so he knew Rean wasn't pretending he couldn't get close to the amphora. In the end, he glared at the guy Samalia had initially selected. "For your own good, you better make it through."
"But sir..." The guy obviously didn't want to.
Unfortunately for him, he had no other choice. "You can either go and try to survive, or you can be killed right here and right now. Which one do you choose?" Zantie spoke with a sarcastic smile.
The guy looked back at his group, but none of them stepped forward for him. They couldn't be blamed, obviously. None of them was in the Space-Time Realm, let alone the late stage. "Fuck!"
In the end, he approached the amphora and tried to touch it. Sure enough, the amphora did not repel his hand. The White Mist quickly came out of it, enveloping the guy and making him disappear.
"So it was true..." Whether Samalia and Zantie wanted it or not, they could only believe Herbert's words now.
"Well then, that's about it. Good luck!" Herbert smiled, starting to walk away with his group.
Of course, Zantie and Samalia wouldn't just let him leave like that. "Herbert, do you take us for idiots? Bring out whatever you got inside the library."
Herbert cursed. "Do you take me for a fool? If you want to fight, then just attack. Why waste our time?"
Zantie and Samalia didn't pretend anymore, either. "Since that's the case, we can only force you to do it."
"Ahem..." Yet, Rean quickly interjected. "Sir Zantie, Lady Samalia, I don't think it is a good idea..."
Zantie found it laughable that Rean would step in to protect Herbert. "Seems like this trash wants to die first."
Rean didn't seem to mind Zantie's words, though. Instead, he simply pointed at the amphora. "I mean... while you are surrounding us, another two guys already touched the amphora and disappeared. Are you sure you want to spend your efforts with us?"
Sure, the trials were dangerous, but there were quite a few Void Tempering Realm experts there who would still risk it just to gain the power of the legendary centurions.
"What?!" Zantie quickly looked back, and as two cultivators disappeared after touching the amphora, another one was already pretty much there, hoping to go inside as well.
*Huzash!*
Zantie's saber slashed through the space, carrying his spatial powers and comprehension of laws. In an instant, the third guy trying to get inside was split in two, and his body then burned to a crisp. The few more who wanted to use that chance to enter the amphora immediately stepped back. Zantie definitely wouldn't let anyone else sneak behind his back. "Zantie!" Samalia quickly warned him. *Bang, bang, boom!*
Zantie turned back and saw that Herbert started to breakthrough the encirclement with his members as soon as Zantie turned his attention away. "Hahahaha! Zantie, Samalia, are you truly willing to spend some time with me? Then come! However, just how many others will enter the amphora after that? Let me see what you will choose!"
Zantie looked back at the amphora one more time, then at Samalia, who was trying to hold Herbert. They had the same cultivation, so if Herbert was focused on escaping, Samalia alone definitely wouldn't be able to hold him there. But if he joined her, then everyone else in this room at the Void Tempering Realm or below would rush to the amphora as well. "Fuck!"
In the end, Zantie turned back and dashed to the amphora's size, stopping his foot on the ground. "Anyone who gets close dies!" He chose to prevent others from entering the amphora. Besides, it would be even better if Herbert and Samalia just killed themselves there.
Herbert laughed even loud as he and his group members forced their way through. "Hahaha! Samalia, will you really spend all your energy against me? Zantie doesn't seem like he wants to help at all."
"Tch!" Samalia obviously understood that. She immediately broke out of Herbert's range, letting him pass. There was no way in hell she would fight to the death just to try to keep Herbert there, and she would still most likely fail. "Herbert, I won't forget you. Once we get out, I'm coming after your clan!"
Herbert couldn't care less. "You are welcome to try. Hahaha!"
Finally, his group reached one of the exits in there. They would leave that room behind, and whatever happened after this wasn't their problem.
"Going somewhere?" Unfortunately, it was at this moment that a flash of green light came out of that exit, taking Herbert by surprise.
*BANG!*
Herbert was instantly forced back once again, taking several tens of meters to stabilize himself. When he looked in the direction of that passage, his expression turned horrible. "Xesht, you truly are annoying as hell..."
Xesht came out of that passage, his face showing a bright smile. "Thank you for the compliment. So... Zantie, Samalia, can you tell me what is happening here?"
