Death... and me

Chapter 3351: Not Only Them

Chapter 3351: Not Only Them

Herbert nodded, although the Pyramid's dangerous ray of light was not part of the information he had. "Leaving those lasers aside, according to the records of our first ancestor, that has to be the Mist Library. The environment changed from his stories, though. The mist where he and the other centurions got lost for a long time is nowhere to be seen. But the pyramid is as exactly described in the records... except for its killing power."

Herbert looked at the Pyramid, trying to look for something specific. "It is a little hard to see from here, but there's supposed to be a block in the pyramid with a mist book image on it. Can your little flying friend bring us up and around the pyramid so we can take a look?"

"Leave it to me," Kentucky quickly allowed everyone on his back, and once again, he took flight.

As they soared to the skies, those who were already there naturally noticed their presence. Yet, what surprised Herbert instead was Xesht's group, who were now on the back of a flying beast. When they arrived in this place, Xesht's group also ran to the city on foot, so where did that flying beast come from?

Of course, no one there was an idiot. It was pretty obvious that Xesht didn't fly to the city because he knew there was no need to do so. Instead, he let the others do it first, and quite a few of them died because of that. Xesht most likely knew of this.

"Xesht!" One of the experts got close, his expression terrible. "You knew about that shit, didn't you? Why didn't you tell us?"

Xesht and the other experts of his Qediya Royal family snorted. "Tell you what? As soon as we arrived, you all took flight and ran to the city. Did you ask me anything? First of all, why should I tell you anything? Where is it written that I, Xesht Qediya, must tell you or anyone else what I know? Grow up, kid."

"You!" The guy was fuming, but contrary to his expectations, the other experts around didn't join him. The Qediya Royal Family obviously had extremely strong experts, and Xesht was at the top of that chain in the Qediya Continent. No one thought it would be worth buying a fight with him. "Hmph! I will keep an eye on you from now on."

Xesht couldn't care less. "So be it. Just don't come back complaining that I led you into a trap again later. Hehe!"

Rean turned to Herbert after seeing that scene. "Do you think he really knew what was going to happen here?"

Herbert didn't know. "I wish I had the answer for that. Still, he did have that tablet that opened a path to this place. Damn it. Now that I think about it, if it wasn't for that tablet, you would have been the only one to have found a way inside here. Such a great opportunity lost..."

"No point thinking about it now," Roan commented. "Kentucky, go flying around and try to find that block Herbert mentioned. It shouldn't be a problem with your eyes. Obviously, don't get too close if you don't want to die."

"Okay!" Kentucky immediately flapped his wings, shooting in the Pyramid's direction. Once he got to a secure position, he began to fly around it, which took several minutes due to the Pyramid's size.

When Kentucky got all the way to the other side of the Pyramid, he finally found the block Herbet mentioned. "There!" he pointed out, and everyone used their Divine Energy in their eyes to help with their focus. Sure enough, the block with a small image of the Mist Book could be seen, albeit almost invisible.

"What now?" Rean asked Herbert behind.

Herbert was about to speak when suddenly, several more flying demon beasts and spirits also reached that side of the pyramid. They were all following a single group, Xesht's group. Xesht also noticed Herbert there, smiling at him as if he expected to see Herbert there. "Seems like I wasn't the only one hiding a Flying Demon Beast in my Pocket Dimensional Realm, right, Herbert?"

Herbert narrowed his eyes. "What are you insinuating? As far as I can see, I'm not the only guy in this place."

When Kentucky came around the Pyramid, he indeed wasn't the only one. A few other flying demon beasts or other experts had also gone around, intending to check the rest of the pyramid. Herbert's group was only one more in that place.

Of course, Xesht's remark pointed out something most had already noticed. Herbert, too, hadn't shown his flying demon beast before. Could it be he also knew that the pyramid was dangerous?

As for Herbert, he just felt like crying. He wasn't hiding any Demon Beast. They just so happened to meet here. It's just that he couldn't tell anyone about that.

Xesht continued to smile, but he didn't pay attention for long. That's because one of his Qediya Royal Family members got close to him, whispering something in his ears.

Xesht immediately took his eyes away from Herbert, looking in the direction of the block Kentucky had spotted earlier. "It's truly there..."

Then, he looked back at Herbert, this time with a serious expression. "Herbert, how about we end this farce? I know the truth. Your Flintstone Clan is actually the Fourth Centurion's clan. You definitely know something about this place, just like me, and especially about the entrance to the Mist Library. Besides, there is no way you can sneak inside without anyone noticing."

All the eyes gathered on Herbert and, as collateral, on Rean and Roan's group as well. The twins were already wondering if this deal they made was worth the unwanted attention.

Herbert narrowed his eyes. "As expected of the Qediya Royal Family, I guess? Since you already know about it, then you should have one as well, don't you?"

Xesht's expression relaxed, happy that they didn't need to keep probing each other. Then, accessing his Pocket Dimensional Realm, he brought out a small piece of fabric in a rectangular shape. No, to be more specific, that was a bookmark, a red one. "What about you?"

"Hmph!" Herbert also accessed his Pocket Dimensional Realm, bringing a very similar bookmark out. It's just that his one was blue. "I obviously have mine."

Herbert didn't like the fact he was exposed, but since that was the case, he had another card to play. "Do you know the hidden ability of our bookmarks?"

"Hidden ability?" Xesht suddenly got confused.

Then, Herbert raised his bookmark, speaking. "Try doing the same, and pour some Starlight Energy inside it. Not Divine Energy, it has to be Starlight Energy." As soon as he said that, Herbert gathered some of the surrounding Starlight Energy, pouring it inside.

Xesht was still confused. There didn't seem to be anything out of the norm after Herbert did that. Still, he was confident in his strength and his group, so no one would try to rob him of his bookmark. That said, he followed Herbert's steps, gathering some of the surrounding Starlight Energy and pouring it inside the red bookmark.

*Din!*

It only took a moment for a reaction to happen. Both bookmarks shined, one with Blue Light, Herbert's, and the other with Red Light, Xesht's. The lights from their bookmarks were intense, impossible to hide.

Yet, that wasn't what truly caught everyone's attention. Instead, it was the sudden appearance of another three lights. One Yellow, one Green, and another one purple. Those lights were coming from three different groups who seemed quite inconspicuous until a moment ago.

"There they are," Herbert smiled.

No one there was an idiot. Anyone could tell that those three groups also had the same kind of bookmarks!

And as always, any Golden Tickets and Stones are welcome. ;)
