Chapter 3347: Already Here?
It wasn't only the city. Looking to the sides, in the distance, Rean also noticed the mountains, which created the valley they were in. They had indeed reached the Valames Valley, where Valames City was supposed to exist. It's just that even the mountains seemed like small hills compared to the ginormous old pyramid right in the middle of Valames City. Perhaps the Pyramid was occupying half the city by itself. As to what happened to everyone and everything that was there before, no one knows.
"Is this a separate dimensional? Like a Dimensional Realm?" Rean asked from above the tree.
Yet, Kentucky was the first one to answer. "The Spatial Powers of this place are different from Dimensional Realms. It does not exist in a separate space. It is still in the real world. However..."
Kentucky then looked past the mountains, and the land seemed to disappear, giving place to the same sea of stars as the tunnel's surroundings earlier. "Even though this is still the real world, some kind of... barrier? Anyway, there is indeed something separating this place from the rest of the land outside."
"Wait, that doesn't make sense," Rifindio joined Kentucky and Rean on the tree, also looking around. "If this is Valames Valley, what about this jungle here? The plants have evolved to live with Starlight Energy, and they are all similar in this white Semi-Transparent Pattern. Are you saying the Valames Valley already had this kind of plant life before?"
"This..." Rean couldn't answer that question. "Indeed, these plants most likely weren't here before. Also, what about the snow? This is the Divine Snow World, right? Yet, there is no snow in this place. Kentucky, as you sure this is not a separate dimension?"
"I'm just telling you what I feel through the Spatial Powers of this place," Kentucky answered. "I'm not saying I'm right. I still think this is the real world and not a separate space, though."
"Evolution is the key word here," Roan jumped in, looking at Valames city far in the distance. "What do you mean?"
Roan shook his head, not explaining his reason. "Let's go to the city. If I'm right, you will understand once we get there. Kentucky, you take it from here."
Kentucky nodded, coming down from the tree and finding a slightly open space. Then, he changed back to his Minokawa Form. "Let's go. Divine Energy Flight isn't allowed, but normal flight should be. I refuse to believe I can't simply flap my wings and use the wind to propel us."
Everyone jumped on Kentucky's back. He spread his wings and flapped them normally. Soon, he detached from the ground, quickly soaring the skies. Sure enough, a normal bird flight had no issues with the laws in this place. "To the city!"
Somewhere else, on the other side of the Valames Valley, another tunnel appeared. Different from the one the twins' group used to come out, this one seemed quite frail, threatening to close at any time.
Xesht was the first one to come out, looking at the tunnel behind him and sighed in relief. "Fortunately, that Pseudo Mist Library Key worked."
*Zush, zush, zush, zush...*
Several more experts appeared, all wearing the same clothes as Xesht. No doubt they were the experts from Qediya. "Senior Xesht, what now? There are a lot of them following us right behind. Yet, this path..."
"Hmph!" Xesht didn't seem to care. "They followed me because they wanted. What does that have to do with me? Everyone takes their own risks; that's life. Let's go. Ignore the path."
*Zush, zush, zush, zush...*
In the next second, Herbert came out of the path, followed by the members of his clan. Yet, they seemed quite in bad shape. "Xesht, this thing will not last long."
Xesht didn't answer, quickly running away with his Qediya Royal Family members.
More and more cultivators, demon beasts, and spirits came out one after another, but each one of them looked worse the the previous one. It couldn't be helped. First, Xesht didn't use a real Mist Tablet to open the path, and second, that wasn't really a path but a disorder similar to the real deal. The protection offered by the Pseudo Mist Library Path would only last so long in those conditions.
*Crack...*
It was then that those who were outside heard the sound of something cracking. Looking back at the exit they used, the tunnel began to break apart.
*Arrrghhh...*
The sounds of screams then echoed from inside as the tunnel collapsed little by little. Those who still had tricks to use didn't waste time and tried everything, jumping out of the collapsing path as fast as they could. Yet, many weren't so lucky, and the destructive power of the fake Abyssal Path took over. Before the tunnel completely collapsed, more than half of the experts who initially entered the path had already been crushed by that pulverizing power. When the path finally closed down, there was no saving for anyone who remained behind. Everyone who was still in the tunnel perished with it.
Herbert narrowed his eyes. It was a good thing he kept a close eye on the Qediya Royal Family and acted right after Xesht did. If Herbert's group had delayed his entering the tunnel, he and his clan members might have been the ones to die in there. "I'm pretty sure Xesht knew this was going to happen..." Herbert murmured to himself, but he didn't mention it aloud.
If it was him, would Herbert have warned of the short-lived path to everyone else? No, he wouldn't, nor would any of those who managed to come out of the path on the other side. Thus, as angry as they might be for almost dying in there, they weren't shameless enough to accuse Xesht of trying to kill them. In the end, they entered the path because they wanted to. Xesht didn't force any of them.
Taking their eyes away from the location where the path disappeared, they all noticed the enormous pyramid in the distance.
As for Herbert, his eyes lit up. 'Just like mentioned in the records of the clan...'
But then again, his expression turned awful as he remembered something. He quickly looked around and couldn't find Rean's group anywhere.
Back when Xesht was about to open the path, Herbert had sent Rean a message through the network. It's just that Herbert's group couldn't stay behind to wait for them. 'Did they die inside the path? Or could it be they didn't reach the path entrance in time?' He wondered. Nonetheless, there was no point in dwelling on this issue. Since Rean wasn't here, there
wasn't anything he cou-
Yet, at that very moment, a message reached Herbert through his VS device attached to his brain. 'This... he is already here?'
