Death... and me

Chapter 3344: Mist Tablet

Chapter 3344: Mist Tablet

Roan still had one question. "Emaniora, when that fat guy mentioned the Mist Library, you reacted to it. You mentioned that it was related to the clue your group found, which is this place. I can see what is weird about this cave that appeared out of nowhere. However, how do you know this is related to the Mist Library?"

Emaniora moved to the side where the furniture was located. After opening a drawer, she pulled a tablet from inside. "This thing was right here when we first arrived. We tried to bring it outside with us, but this thing seems to be stuck somehow to this place. It can't go past the crevice exit."

Emaniora passed the tablet stone tablet to Roan, who looked at the image on it. It had an open book, and something that looked like smoke, mist, or something like that was coming out of it.

Emaniora shrugged. "If this thing isn't related to this so-called Mist Library, then I don't know what it is."

Roan was satisfied. "I can't think about anything else either." Roan quickly tried to send it into the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm, but the tablet fought against the Spatial Pull. Following that, Roan tried to bring it out of the secret base, and just like Emaniora mentioned, it truly couldn't go out. It simply disappeared from Roan's hand and reappeared right in front of the entrance to the further parts of that cave.

Roan tried other methods, but he gave up in the end. It was simply impossible to bring that tablet away. "Seems like the cave only exists because of this tablet. Let's leave it here."

Now, there was only one way to find out what this place was hiding further inside, so Rean and the others prepared to move. "What about your group, Emaniora?"

"We will be fine with the Starlight Crystals," Emaniora spoke. "That was the whole reason for us to come here."

Rean nodded, taking out a small device and making a few quick changes. Then, he passed her that small device. "This is the control of my puppets. They will come back on their own from time to time. You will have control over half of them with this little thing. Just take the Starlight Crystals they bring for you. As for the other half, you don't need to worry about them. I'll be using them myself."

Emaniora and her friends' eyes lit up. They saw how fast Rean's puppets were collecting the crystals, so it was perfect since they also didn't need to risk going down that path. "Really? What about the puppets?"

"They are cheap as fuck! Hahaha!" Rean laughed, not minding losing those puppets at all. "Just take them for yourself. You can even use the device I gave you to ask them to do some simple tasks. You need to replace the Divine Stones being used to power them, though."

Roan was already walking ahead, not even bothering to look back. "Are you done there? Let's go already."

Rean patted Emaniora's shoulder, smiling. "Good luck to you all. You can wait for us here or go back on your own. That's up to you. If possible, try not to talk about this place for the moment until we finish our investigation here. See you another time."

Then, Rean left, joining Kentucky and Rifindio.

Culo saw the twins' group disappearing in the white fog that kept coming out, taking the chance to ask Emaniora in a low voice. "What now? We could make some extra profit by revealing this place's location as soon as the puppets are back. We already got what we wanted, after all."

Emaniora shook her head, though. "Something tells me that it would be a very bad idea to get on that group's wrong side." She then waved her hand, and many of the furniture of their secret base entered her Pocket Dimensional Realm. "Anyway, let's clean this place while we wait for the puppets. It is better if no one can relate this place to ourselves after we leave."

"Understood!" Everyone accepted the orders and started to work.

Rean left his other puppets to take the lead as his group followed them down. From time to time, his puppets would come back, passing the Starlight Energy Crystals to them. Yet, even though they walked for over an hour, there didn't seem to be an end to that cave.

"Are we truly progressing at all?" Kentucky couldn't help but ask.

Roan didn't seem the least bit bothered. "Who cares? We are getting more and more Starlight Crystals. Considering the amount of Starlight Energy inside them, we might get enough to cultivate an entire realm by the end of this."

*Pi...*

Suddenly, Rean's device let out a sound, prompting Rean to raise his hand in front of others. "Wait a moment."

*Pi, pi, pi, pi, pi...*

The device made the same sounds again several times, and Rean narrowed his eyes. "I'm losing contact with all my puppets. They are just a few hundred meters ahead, so there is something close by."

Everyone looked at him. "So what then? We go back?"

Roan had no intention of doing such a thing. "No. Let's proceed ahead carefully. Stick together in case we need to pull each other."

They got closer to each other and continued to walk ahead. At first, there wasn't anything out of the norm. It didn't last long, though. When they approached the distance where the puppets' signals disappeared, the white fog grew in intensity, making it even harder to see anything.

"I'm going to the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm," Kentucky spoke, entering it straight away.

Rean and Roan nodded. They could also use Kentucky's exit in case they need to run inside the Dimensional Realm.

Now, only Rean, Roan, and Rifindio continued forward, with Kentucky and Sister Orb watching everything from inside the Dimensional Realm.

A few meters later, it happened.

*Vup!*

Out of nowhere, the trio felt a powerful pulling force, and even with their best efforts, they couldn't fight it. They were dragged forward little by little, Rifindio being the one losing

ground the most.

"Should we give up? We can use Kentucky's exit!" Rifindio asked.

Roan shook his head, grabbing Rifindio's arm so they would be pulled ahead at the same pace. "No. We need to see what is happening ahead. At the moment, it is only this pulling force, but nothing seems to be harming us."

Rean agreed. "Besides, I believe we will hear from the system any time now."

As if answering Rean's words, the system's voice echoed in their minds.

*Pin!*

Outside the Dimensional Realm, Rean and Roan's bodies were enveloped by a yellow light. The pulling force didn't disappear, but it didn't work on the twins anymore, either. As for Rifindio, since Roan was holding him, part of that yellow light also enveloped him.

*Zup!*

Then, the ground under their group disappeared, being swapped by a sea of stars... or were they really stars? It was hard to say. The white fog moved past them, rushing out. Yet, with a much bigger area to cover, it became very thin in that place, giving the twins' group a chance to see much further.

"This looks very different from a Spatial Gate," Rean commented. The yellow light still enveloped his body, allowing him to stay still in that location.

*Zush!*

Then, Kentucky came out of the Dimensional Realm, much to the twins' surprise. "Why did you come out? Your exit you left outside has now been removed."

"It was meaningless," Kentucky spoke. "We are over a million kilometers away from where I

left the exit, so we can't connect to it anymore."

Sure enough, the system's range was also applied to Kentucky. If it was past a million kilometers, which is the actual soul connection range between the twins, it simply couldn't be used. Kentucky could only come out by the twins' side now.
