Chapter 3343: That's Up To You
Even though they were allowed to investigate the center of the phenomenon with Rean's move, that didn't mean the area was small. The phenomenon covering the Valamis City and the Valames Valley alone expanded hundreds of kilometers, with the white fog spreading out of it and going thousands of kilometers away. They just managed to restrain their research area to those several hundred kilometers of the central area where the phenomenon epicenter was located.
Yet, that area where it seemed impossible to see anything didn't seem to bother Emaniora and her friends at all. They moved through the open areas, using landmarks as a reference and easily finding their way through the wilderness.
"You see, the four of us were born in Valames City," Emaniora commented as she guided everyone. "We grew up here, started cultivating here, went out to fight low-level demon beasts for the first time here... Everything related to the star of our paths as cultivators started here."
"Emaniora, it's here," her friend, Culo, said from a few meters away.
Emaniora moved with Rean and the others, and an inconspicuous tock protruding from the ground entered their sight. It didn't seem to have anything special, but in that intense white fog where Divine Sense didn't work, that rock worked as a perfect landmark to Emaniora's group. From there, they continued to fly close to the ground as Emaniora continued her story. "Eventually, we ventured further away, fighting stronger beasts, doing harder missions, acquiring better resources, etc. That's how we know this place so well. Pretty much most of our lives were spent in Valames City and its surroundings."
Emaniora came down again, and another one of her friends had already waited by another landmark that was nothing but a common area for anyone else. "But we are cultivators, aren't we? It came a time when we grew strong enough, and we decided to venture past the Valames City territory. We come back to Valames City from time to time, but we spend most of our time outside now. It was during one of our travels that we heard what happened to Valames -City."
Finally, Emaniora and her group landed in front of a small hill, and in front of them, a little crevice, which barely had enough space for them to get through, could be seen. "This is our little secret base. It isn't too far away from the city, and you wouldn't find more than a few Demon Beasts around. And the Demon Beasts here are at most Stage Two or Three."
Emaniora passed through the opening, quickly being followed by her friends. Rean and the others nodded and followed closely behind. It was dark, and the white fog made Divine Sense impossible to use, so all they could do was rely on Rean's Light Element to illuminate the path.
In the end, they came out inside a cave that had quite a few pieces of furniture around. Some seemed very old, others not so much. But from the looks of it, this place was often frequented, and Emaniora's group was the one to use this space. They brought many decorations from various places, and you could say that the space was quite comfortable and welcoming. Other than that, there was also a simple formation around the cave, just to make sure no one's Divine Sense would reach inside. It was truly Emaniora's group's small secret base they built when they were young.
Emaniora then stopped in front of the back of the cave, pointing forward. "Here is the place we were talking about. Before, there was absolutely nothing here. The cave inside the crevice was only big enough to fit a few tens of people, and we just liked to gather here to have some fun every time we came back from our journeys."
"Nothing?" Rean shot a small ball of Light Element forward, and it sped away until it got too far for its light to pierce the White Fog. "This cave continues for at least a few hundred
meters, maybe more since I can't see further away."
"Exactly," Emaniora nodded.
Then, Culo got down and began to collect a few things from the ground. He passed it to Rean and the others, who immediately recognized the items. "Starlight Crystals!"
Emaniora also got down, collecting one of those. "This case is absolutely filled with them, and the further you go, the more you will find. You can find the crystals outside; that senior from the Flintstone Clan gave you a few thousand, which you can indeed find if you search wide enough. However, I doubt any other place outside has as many Starlight Crystals as this place."
Rean immediately waved his hand, and several puppets came out of the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. "Collect all the crystals like this one. Now, go."
The puppets, which were very simple and usually used for Roan's herb garden, immediately accepted the order, began to collect the crystals around, and then moved away to collect more. They all had Spatial Spaces like Spatial Rings built in them, so they simply sent all the crystals inside.
Of course, that was only the start. In case Rean and his group need to leave later, the puppets at least will have gathered the crystals for them. "Okay, so this cave was only a small space, and now it has become a giant cave where you don't know where it ends, right? Have you tried to investigate it further?"
"We wanted to," Rila, a woman from Emaniora's group, spoke. "But we were quickly informed by Culo about the authorities of the Qediya. We didn't want to be found, so we came out before we went too far. We didn't expect they would send us out and seal the place." Emaniora nodded. "This is the thing we found. For us, the Starlight Crystals are everything we need as they are worth quite a lot for experts like us. As for what you can find further down this cave, we don't know. That is up to you to check out."
