Death... and me

Chapter 3331: We Don't Speak

Chapter 3331: We Don't Speak

"Forget about that," Roan spoke, looking to the skies. In the distance, he saw a couple of Cultivators flying away, not paying any attention to his group. "The capital is close, so let's go there,"

"The four of us? Shouldn't I go alone or with Kentucky at most?" Rean asked back.

"A cultivation technique for a Divine Parasol Tree is different from a cultivation technique for a Demon Beast or Spirit. I will need to search and buy a few materials to test them with Ridia, so I will take this opportunity to take a look around in the Capital," Roan explained. "We can teleport after that."

Kentucky looked at Rifindio. "What about you?"

"Me?" Rifindio scratched the back of his head. "After all those years cultivating... I'm just bored. I will tag along to pass the time."

Rean smiled. "That's also fine. It is good to rest and pull your head away from work from time to time. In that case, let's go together."

Following that, Rean waved his hand, and Zangeshu appeared outside as well, confused. "You, too, join us. Let's have some fun in the capital."

Zangeshu's mouth twitched. He had no interest in such things. "Just send me back. I was working on the Divine Sense Runes. You pulled me so suddenly that I think the rune I was building probably collapsed."

Rean put his arm around Luan's shoulder, ignoring his complaint. "I see, I see! You are also feeling tired, uh? At least this annoyed face of yours says you are. Don't worry; your master will show the world around."

Zageshu was indeed annoyed... that Rean was wasting his time. However, Rean's grasp of Zangeshu's shoulder was increased, making it impossible for Zangeshu to move. 'Don't think I forgot the beating you gave me a while ago when I lost my cultivation. I might be powerless against Sister Orb, but you... Hehe!'

Zangeshu glared at Rean. 'Is that the conduct of a master to its disciple?'

'Good thing I'm a terrible example of a master,' Rean answered with a bright smile.

With that, Zangeshu was dragged along with the rest of the group, they all going to the capital before teleporting away to the next continent.

The Capital of the Qlonvi Continent was quite a sight to be seen. Home to over four billion inhabitants, the city alone had a span of over a hundred kilometers. However, one couldn't see anything inside the city when outside. The reason it was a sight to be seen was due to the

snow.

The protection formation around the city created a layer for the snow to settle on. Years and years caused the snow to accumulate, and now the capital looked more like a gigantic igloo. It was easy to spot from even further away, the enormous dome of pure white.

As one can expect, experts flocked into the various entrances, and just as many came out, boarding their airships or simply flying away on their own. That was only a part of the movement. Most of it, in fact, happened inside through the tens of thousands of teleport formations that received and sent away even more inhabitants and visitors.

The twins' group arrived at the entrance and joined the queue that only lasted a few minutes. The process was swift, and all their identities were quickly confirmed... fake ones, of course. No one could tell that the twins' group did not have the VS devices attached to their brains like everyone else.

Finally, inside, the group looked at the city ahead, countless buildings towering to the skies, almost touching the formation above where countless tons of snow were kept at bay.

"You go ahead and look for the teleport formation to the next continent. I'm going to look around for the things I need for Ridia's training," Roan said. Before anyone could say anything, he walked away, disappearing in the middle of the crowd.

Rean shrugged, pulling Zangeshu with him. "Let's go to the city center then. Long-Distance Teleport Formations are bound to be near there."

"If you say so..." Zangeshu could only agree and tag along.

Finally, only Rifindio and Kentucky were left behind.

"Master... please don't attack another tamers guild while we are here, okay?" Rifindio asked with a serious expression.

"What are you talking about? It's not like I want to cause trouble at every city," Kentucky complained back. Then, he noticed a crowd of Demon Beasts in humanoid form moving somewhere else and decided to follow. "Seems like there is some fun over there. Let's go!" Rifindio shrugged and quickly followed as well. Like that, their group was divided into three as each one decided to do their own things.

Later that day, Roan arrived at a secluded location, far away from the center and the city crowd. Passing by a bright alley, he soon arrived at an inconspicuous building that only had a small drawing on its door. It was the image of a three-eyed monkey with enormous ears and mouth sutured.

"It sees, it hears, but it doesn't speak... just like I heard," Roan murmured before opening the door. In there, a corridor presented itself, and various doors with circuitry formation electronic locks were available for choosing.

Roan walked through the corridor, and most of the locks had a red sign, indicating they were occupied. Only after walking for a few minutes did Roan finally find a door with a green light, allowing him to open and enter it.

The room itself was simple, with just a table and a few seats. There were no windows, just another two doors. One on the opposite side of the room, and another one that was locked with th same red sign Roan saw before.

Roan ignored that and took a seat, waiting for a moment. 'Sister Orb, how's the formations here?'

[Nothing much,] Sister Orb answered. [The only formation in place is one that prevents any sound or Divine Senses from prying inside.]

Roan nodded, satisfied. 'That's perfect then.'

A few minutes later, the door on the opposite side of the room opened, and a person entered. It was impossible to tell who it was, as a dark fog covered that person's body, making it impossible to check the individual's appearance or even his cultivation.

"Sorry for the waiting," the individual, who had a weird and obviously changed voice, spoke to Roan. "What do you want to know? Regardless of what you ask, all my memories of this conversation will be erased, and no one will ever know what information you paid for, including our organization. We see, we hear, but we don't speak."
