A Journey That Changed The World

Chapter 1433 1433: Secret Prison Up There

She didn’t flinch as the cold steel of handcuffs clicked around her wrists, the agents’ movements mechanical. Shock coursed through her, sharp and electric, but beneath it, something unexpected stirred, a strange relief.

A slow smile spread across her face, startling the onlookers. The weight of her double life, the constant maneuvering to shield her connection with Archer, seemed to dissolve in the face of this public reckoning.

”Thank God,” she said, her voice unburdened. ”Now I can finally visit him without sneaking around.”

Elizabeth straightened and fixed Senator Turo with a look that could cut glass. ”But let’s be clear,” she added, her tone firm, ”I expect my phone call when I lock up. It’s my right, and I’ll be damned if you forget it.”

The creepy-looking man chuckled as his eyes glowed with malice. ”You will get no such thing, you’ll be hidden so when your lover appears, we can capture him and learn all his secrets.”

She began laughing before speaking. ”Take me away, I want to rest and make sure I’m awake to see your world crumble.”

Following that, Elizabeth was led to a nearby van and put inside, only for a meow to appear below her. She glanced down and saw a tiny fluffy cat with bright violet eyes looking up at her.

”Are you one of Archer’s monsters?” she softly asked.

The creature nodded, jumping into her lap and curling up, putting a smile on the older woman’s face. After this, she was taken to a secret location where they tried to hide her from Archer.

Elizabeth giggled while looking at the grey walls as she rubbed her stomach where the dragon tattoo lay. Just then, she sent a message to Micha telling the older woman to ring their shared lover.

The brunette agreed to it, and ten minutes later, she felt the ground shaking and an enraged roar echoed across America. Moments later, jets flew above, but she was suddenly grabbed by something in the shadows.

A hand pulled her in, only to appear on the roof of the prison, where a swarm of fighter jets headed toward a dot in the sky. She was in shock at the sight, muttered. ”You came so quickly, now let the world see how strong you truly are.”

In the blink of an eye, Elizabeth noticed the heavens themselves seemed to fracture as a series of glowing portals ripped open around him, their edges pulsing with an eerie, otherworldly light.

‘What’s happening? Why isn’t he attacking,’ she thought with wide green eyes and brown hair blowing around thanks to the winter weather.

From these, a horde of winged monsters exploded into the sky, their piercing shrieks reverberating like the war cries of a forgotten abyss. Her eyes widened when she saw these new creatures.

Elizabeth’s breath was stolen by the sheer terror of the spectacle, her heart hammering as the beasts swarmed with ferocity. Fighter jets screamed through the air, their pilots pushing the limits to counter the onslaught.

She watched as the creatures were a force of nature, evading barrages of missiles and gunfire so fast she could barely keep up before the things descended upon the aircraft. With bone-chilling precision, they tore through the jets.

Their mandibles and long legs rending metal like a predator shredding prey, leaving trails of fire and debris raining down in a cascade. The beasts were a vision of terror, their forms reminding her of massive dragonflies warped by some malevolent design.

Each was half the size of the jets, their immense, translucent wings buzzing with a low, ominous drone that shook the air. Their bodies were armored with obsidian-like spines, and their eyes burned with a cold, predatory cunning.

Mandibles like scythes gleamed under the afternoon light. Following that, Elizabeth noticed him approaching her by floating through the air as he approached the prison.

After he received a phone call from Micha informing him of Elizabeth’s imprisonment, prompting him to turn to Circe. ”I need to go somewhere, can you wait here for me, please?”

”Of course, handsome,” she replied with a warm smile. ”I love the view, so I’ll just relax until you come back.”

With a wave of mana, Archer opened a Gate to Earth. He stepped through the portal’s hum fading behind him as his boots sank into the soft, loamy soil of Micha’s garden at Rosemary Beach.

The air was thick with the scent of blooming jasmine and salt from the nearby ocean, a serene contrast to the battlefields he’d just left. Vibrant flowers swayed in the gentle coastal breeze, their colors vivid under the golden afternoon sun.

Archer’s gaze swept over the familiar garden, a haven of peace tended to by Micha. Moments later, he approached the back door, its windows gleaming and shutters thrown open to welcome the day.

He pushed open the door, the faint creak of hinges breaking the quiet, and stepped into the warmth of the house. In the living room, bathed in soft light filtering through gauzy curtains, sat Micha.

Her mature beauty was striking, her chestnut hair, and her presence exuded a quiet strength and grace. She lounged in an armchair, a book resting in her lap, utterly unaware of his arrival.

The moment Micha’s gaze lifted, her wide, sapphire-blue eyes locked onto him, sparkling with a mix of surprise and dawning joy. A radiant smile broke across her face, transforming her features with warmth.

She sprang to her feet, the book tumbling forgotten to the cushion, and rushed toward him. Her laughter, bright and unrestrained, filled the room as she closed the distance, her arms outstretched in a gesture of unbridled delight.

”Arch!” she exclaimed, enveloping him in an embrace.

The older woman shoved his head into her cleavage as the soft flesh enveloped his senses, as her soft voice reached his pointy ears. ”It’s good to see you, handsome, despite what has happened.”

”Same, how have you been, Micha? Anyone bothered you?” he replied with a charming smile.

When she saw this, her cheeks went red, nodding with a happy expression. ”Everything but that may change in the next couple of days.”

Archer’s eyes narrowed as he closed his eyes and created several white orbs, which surprised the woman. Once that was done, he handed them over, explaining. ”Hand these to the others. If you’re in danger, it will drain my mana and bring you to my Domain.”

Micha took them with a smile as she suddenly hugged him, replying. ”Thank you, handsome. Make sure you go see Ellie, Cece, and Sasha, those three demonesses have missed you, moping around the house like sick puppies.”

”I will, but I’ll go get Liz first before bringing her back to the Domain, as it seems the new government hates her,” he revealed.

The brunette nodded in agreement and sat back down while continuing. ”You better hurry up, those crazy government officials are going crazy since Elizabeth lost the election.”

Archer sighed but waved him away, smiling. ”It’s fine, I’ll go get her now and destroy the people who caught her.”

Following that, Micha kissed him before he left the house while summoning his wings and taking off. Thanks to the tattoo, he could pinpoint the ex-president who was being held in a valley.

‘Midwest?’ he mused while flying west. ‘Must have a secret prison up there.’

After hours of flight, he soared through the twilight sky as America hadn’t changed since his last visit, his wings cutting through the thin, cold air. Below, a rugged valley sprawled, hiding the faint pulse of Elizabeth’s presence.

Archer’s violet eyes gleamed with determination, locking onto the prison where she was held. A piercing screech shattered the silence, slicing through the hum of his wings as his senses warned him of an attack.

His head snapped to the side, catching the glint of six fighter jets streaking toward him, their sleek forms slicing through the clouds. Their engines roared, leaving trails of white vapor in their wake as they bore down on him with lethal intent.

”Fools, now let’s show them what true power is,” he muttered with a wild undertone in his voice.

His lips curled into a feral grin, a spark of exhilaration igniting in his chest. The lead jet closed in fast, its targeting systems locking onto him. With a twist of his body, Archer veered to the side, the rush of air from the jet’s passage tugging at his cloak.

In a blur, he lashed out with his razor-sharp claws, raking them along the jet’s fuselage. The metal screamed, sparks flying as the plane erupted into a fiery explosion. The shockwave blasted outward, whipping his white hair into a wild tangle.

Undeterred, he fixed his gaze on the second jet, which banked sharply to evade him. With a flick of his wrist, he summoned a torrent of raw energy, his Mana Blast building into a searing orb of violet light.

Archer hurled it with pinpoint precision, the blast tearing through the plane’s wings like paper. The aircraft spiraled downward, trailing smoke and debris as it plummeted into the valley below, a second explosion lighting up the twilight.
