YUAN’S ASCENSION

Chapter 872: This Is Providence

Among the participants, it was known that two Supreme Geniuses had fully comprehended the Law of Space. Additionally, more than ten peerless geniuses had advanced their understanding of the Law of Space to the peak-stage Astral Monarch level, granting them the ability to access the higher spatial dimension.

However, Wu Yuan’s qi refiner self possessed exceptionally sharp perception abilities. In addition to his mastery of Spacetime, his Apotheosis Yuan Soul greatly enhanced his capabilities.

As a result, when it came to detection and killing efficiency, only the two Supreme Geniuses who had fully mastered the Law of Space could rival him. The other peerless geniuses? They lagged far behind.

“Ming Jian cultivated for less than twenty thousand years, yet already has peak-stage Astral Monarch comprehension, not much weaker than Wu Yuan.”

“According to previous intelligence, he wasn’t nearly this strong.” The highest echelons of various Saintdoms discussed among themselves.

Previously, the reason Ming Jian was classified as a significant threat by various Saintdoms was not due to an overwhelming display of strength. In terms of battle achievements, he could not compare to figures like Xue Li, Cang Yu, or Wu Yuan.

Instead, the concern stemmed primarily from his talent. Ming Jian had spent thousands of years cultivating on Taiyuan Island, and while the Saintdoms were aware of this, they could never accurately measure his true power.

It should be noted that although Ming Jian had sparred with some Astral Monarchs, the highest echelons of the Taiyuan Divine Court had ensured that the specific battle footage was never leaked.

And now, Ming Jian’s strength seemed to have reached a truly fearsome level.

Within the special voidrealm opened by the Taiyuan Divine Court in the Ling Jiang Universe, hundreds of geniuses’ avatars each sat on jade platforms, cultivating quietly.

High in the sky, Overlord Xin Ya, Overlord Shan Jin, Overlord Xue Li, Overlord Gui Guang, Overlord Yan Kui and others had gathered, exchanging information with each other.

Besides collecting reports from geniuses like Ming Jian, Hu Biao, Bai Yi and others, they also exchanged intelligence with various Saintdoms through their respective information networks.

“Ming Jian is still our greatest hope.”

“It’s truly brutal, he’s already killed nearly a thousand mana/ether bodies.” The white-robed Overlord Yan Kui sighed with emotion: “They say he’s killed over six hundred, ranking in the top five.

“In my view, in terms of killing efficiency, Ming Jian is likely ranked first,” Overlord Yan Kui continued solemnly.

The Overlords present all nodded.

It was too insane! When the Overlords received news from Ming Jian, they had all gotten a fright.

If he could kill so many in just one month, how many would he kill over nine thousand years? Although his kill rate would decrease over time, it would still undoubtedly be a heart-stopping number.

One had to understand that each of those fallen mana/ether bodies could count as an Astral Monarch-level combat force.

“This isn’t even Ming Jian’s full power – he has already mastered a Sovereign-level technique,” Overlord Shan Jin said with a smile. “It’s just that none of his current opponents are worth going all out against.”

“Mm.”

“That’s right.” The other Overlords nodded in agreement.

“Yan Kui, do you still think my previous decision was a mistake?” Overlord Xin Ya glanced at Overlord Yan Kui.

“I was wrong, I was wrong, okay?” Overlord Yan Kui rolled his eyes: “Can we not bring this up when we’re all in a good mood?”

“Haha!”

“Even Yan Kui has such days.” The joyful voices of the Overlords rang out in the sky.

“Ming Jian just sent news,” Overlord Xue Li’s announcement cut through the chatter. “The number of mana/ether bodies he’s killed has exceeded one thousand.

“Ranked second in our Taiyuan Divine Court is Bai Yi, currently at thirty-two.”

When the millions of geniuses were first transported over, there was a period of confusion and chaos. Eventually, led by the Eldritch Court and Immortal Court, the highest echelons of various Saintdoms agreed to number and divide the fifty-five worlds for better coordination of information.

Wu Yuan’s qi refiner self was in Divine Domain World 36, while his body refiner self was in World 7.

Amidst the verdant mountains, the air thrummed with life.

Wu Yuan hovered in the sky, his Soul Will extending outward in all directions, probing the spatial fluctuations around him. The number of participants is dropping.

For the last several hours, he had been wandering across expansive terrains, yet he hadn’t encountered a single participant.

It was evident that after a month of relentless combat, only the most confident dared to traverse the skies of the Divine Domain World openly. Such formidable figures were scarce even within the vast expanse of a Divine Domain World.

Let’s keep searching for other opponents. Wu Yuan resolved silently. His qi refiner self and mana body continued searching.

After traveling several million li further, an astounding wave of spiritual qi rippled out from the distant void, sweeping over Wu Yuan and bringing him to an immediate halt.

A treasure is manifesting nearby. He realized, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.

He grinned. I’ve stumbled upon several trinkets before, but this is the second time my qi refiner self has witnessed a true treasure’s manifestation.

Two in a single month. Providence truly favors me. With that thought, Wu Yuan’s form shifted, merging into a higher spatial dimension, racing towards the source of the spiritual qi fluctuations.

Indeed, over the past month, Wu Yuan had encountered six treasures. They seemed to materialize near him unbidden.

Whether it was discovering a small divine crystal mine vein mid-flight, landing upon a mountain peak to find a precious spiritual herb, or uncovering palm-sized Space Essence Stones amid battle debris, these opportunities were surprisingly abundant. In the Divine Domain World, such occurrences were commonplace, with myriad strange and wondrous treasures appearing regularly.

Nevertheless, these experiences testified to Wu Yuan’s powerful providence—he could stumble upon treasures just by roaming about.

Although his body refiner self had once detected a truly precious treasure, he arrived too late, finding it already claimed. His qi refiner self’s first encounter mirrored this frustration.

This time, however, he sensed that it was within reach, fueling his determination to secure it.

Simultaneously, as Wu Yuan rushed toward the treasure, the spiritual qi fluctuations rippled across tens of millions of li, captivating the attention of numerous participants in the region.

“Let’s go!”

“Such a treasure must be a great opportunity. In a secluded valley, six High Immortals/High Deities who had been meditating opened their eyes in unison, surprise and joy lighting their faces.

Though initially strangers, they had decided to form an alliance

“Once we have the treasure, we can decide how to divide it up. For now, we must not fight amongst ourselves,” one advised.

“Yes, we should join forces!” The group reached an uneasy consensus, wary but united by necessity.

With a flurry of motion, the six High Immortals and High Deities launched towards the treasure’s call.

Meanwhile, a million li away, two High Immortals, sensing the opportunity, set out with singular focus.

“An opportunity? It’s mine!”

On a barren mountain, a rugged man dressed in black robes sat cross-legged, a saber resting in front of him.

“Hmm?” he murmured, suddenly alert. With a swift movement, his eyes snapped open—revealing not two, but four cold, merciless eyes.

“An opportunity? A treasure ground?” he mused aloud, his voice tinged with anticipation. “I hope it won’t disappoint me.”

In a fluid motion, he seized his saber and launched himself into the sky, vanishing into the endless expanse above.

Despite the formidable restraints of the Divine Domain World, the incredible strength of the participants allowed them to traverse thousands of li in mere seconds.

As for Wu Yuan? He moved through the higher spatial dimension with astonishing speed.

Barely an hour later, Wu Yuan reached the site where intense surges of spiritual qi were erupting from. He lingered in the higher spatial dimension, peering down at the Material Spatial Layer below, choosing not to act just yet.

Hmm? What’s that? He wondered, spotting countless wisps of mist spiraling up from the wilderness.

Amidst the mist, a temple loomed, its outline faint but unmistakable.

A temple? He held his breath, his excitement palpable as he contemplated the potential wealth of treasures hidden within.

Experience taught him that opportunities that caused larger disturbances often held more precious treasures. Yet, Wu Yuan knew that the treasure ground was far from fully revealed.

Claiming it prematurely was impossible. He had to bide his time and wait for the treasure to fully manifest. This was an unwritten law of the Megaverse Crossroads.

Four individuals have already arrived? Wu Yuan noted, his brow furrowing as he observed from his vantage point.

He easily detected the presence of four other participants. They seemed to share an unspoken agreement to avoid conflict until the treasure emerged, aware that any premature battle would only benefit opportunistic newcomers.

Wu Yuan, however, was free from such worries; his thoughts were on a different path.

At present, there are only four High Immortals. But if I delay, this place could draw forty or more High Immortals and High Deities. He speculated, frowning deeply.

Furthermore, these High Immortals and High Deities were far from being novices. Only the strongest and most determined had survived to this point. None of those vying for treasures were weak.

Perhaps I should eliminate them. He pondered, a chilling resolve in his expression. Strike first, leaving them no chance to join forces. The thought shimmered in his eyes, cold and unyielding.

Without further hesitation, Wu Yuan resolved to act.

The dense, swirling mist enveloped the wilderness, stretching for hundreds of li. The four High Immortals and High Deities stood at separate corners, waiting in silence but with heightened vigilance.

Their primary fear was the threat of numerous geniuses converging before the treasure’s emergence.

Suddenly, the stillness shattered.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! Brilliant silver sword lights sliced through the void, appearing as if conjured from thin air. They shot with deadly precision toward each High Immortal and High Deity.

“Not good!”

“Kill!”

“An attack from the higher spatial dimension. Is it Ming Jian?” Alarm and rage mingled on their faces. The ambush was swift and unanticipated, hardly leaving them time to react.

They immediately thought of Wu Yuan. With mid-stage Astral Monarch-level comprehension, they were highly regarded geniuses in any Saintdom, maintaining ties with the external world.

Ming Jian’s fame preceded him. Over the past month, his name echoed throughout Divine Domain World 36. He was known for his ruthless slaughter, and many geniuses had fallen to his blade.

Boom~ Rumble~ The violent aftershocks of battle erupted as the four High Immortals/High Deities, each with formidable strength, scrambled to block the incoming swords.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! The sword lights twisted back.

Whoosh! Wu Yuan, clad in pristine white robes, materialized silently in the void, gazing down at the four below. His flying swords returned, entering the silver sword array disc beneath him.

“It’s Ming Jian.”

“The attire, the silver sword disc below his feet, and ability to enter a higher spatial dimension – there’s no mistake.” They murmured, eyes wide with terror.

“Ming Jian, we’ll leave immediately,” the purple-robed female High Immortal called from afar, her voice tinged with desperation as she attempted to retreat.

“Yes! Daoist Ming Jian, with your strength, we’re beneath your notice. Why bother with us?” The others chimed in quickly.

A name carried weight like a tree cast shadows. Ming Jian’s fierce reputation caused all the courage to leave them.

“Unfortunately, you’re making things difficult for me,” Wu Yuan replied lightly.

“Difficult?” The purple-robed female High Immortal’s voice wavered with confusion. “Brother Ming Jian, we’ve done nothing to trouble you.”

“No! You have.” Wu Yuan shook his head slowly. “I’ve eliminated every other participant I encountered—none survived. If I let you go now, it wouldn’t be fair to the others, would it?”

A slight smile tugged at his lips. “So, your request indeed troubles me. Perhaps you should choose how you’d prefer to meet your end—two sword strikes or three?”

Such arrogance! Wu Yuan’s words dripped with arrogance, but his power left them unchallenged.

“Escape!”

“Run!” The four exchanged frantic glances, then scattered in four directions.

Since he refused to let them off, their only hope lay in escape. Waiting for death was not an option after all.

“Go!”

“Flee? Do you really think you can escape?” Wu Yuan murmured, shaking his head. With a thought, dozens of flying swords erupted from the silver disc at his feet, each sword radiating immense power.

Thirty-six swords formed four sword arrays, each one a devastating force. With a deafening howl, they pursued the fleeing High Immortals/High Deities.

Whoosh! The four High Immortals/High Deities resisted fiercely, but under Wu Yuan’s relentless pursuit, they fell one by one. Only a single High Deity managed to escape while being battered by several strikes from the sword array.

His successful escape wasn’t entirely due to his own skills. Wu Yuan simply chose not to chase him any longer.

Relying solely on my mana body to take down so many geniuses at once is still somewhat taxing. He mused. It’s time for my true self to take action.

Of the four sword arrays he commanded moments before, two were under the control of his mana body, while the other two were wielded by his qi refiner self. Their combined strength allowed him to lay waste to all sides.

With the battlefield now quiet, Wu Yuan claimed his prize: the temple.

No one can steal this opportunity from me.

Settling into lotus position in the void, he closed his eyes, meditating to replenish his mana while the flying swords hovered protectively around him. He radiated a powerful vital aura that pulsed through the air.

As time flowed on, a new wave of challengers arrived. Drawn by the spiritual qi fluctuations, over thirty geniuses converged on the site.

Upon spotting Wu Yuan’s qi refiner self, some recognized him instantly.

“It’s Ming Jian.”

“Best not to meddle with him.” The reputation of his formidable skills preceded him, and none dared approach.

Their trepidation soon turned to certainty, as any who ventured within ten thousand li of the mist-cloaked temple met a swift end at Wu Yuan’s hand.

Even a team of six High Immortals who charged him in unison met with disastrous defeat—five lay dead, completely thwarted.

Wu Yuan’s display of power and the infamy of his qi refiner self cowed the remaining geniuses, keeping them at bay.

Yet, despite their fear, they lingered, reluctant to leave without glimpsing the temple’s secrets.

Suddenly, a booming voice echoed through the air, “Ming Jian, if you know what’s good for you, get lost!”

The void quivered as a black-robed figure, a saber strapped to his back, surged forward like a bolt of lightning. His aura was menacing as he shot straight for Wu Yuan.
