Yuan’s Ascension

Chapter 743: Master, It's Truly Not Enough (4)

Wu Yuan was unaware of his new sequence number on the assassination list, but this was only expected. Even if he did learn of it, he wouldn't have cared.

On the path to becoming a powerhouse, one must weather countless storms. Only by facing these storms head-on and holding out through them could one hope to become a super powerhouse of heaven and earth, a pillar holding up the eldritch world.

Within the Second Origin Eldritch Field was an unremarkable void continent. The overall layout wasn't much different from that of the Fourth Origin Eldritch Field, aside from being vastly larger.

Whoosh! Wu Yuan stepped out of the teleportation array and immediately spotted over a hundred figures standing not far away. At the forefront was a woman in red robes with a bewitching figure.

"Cen Jiang!" Wu Yuan broke into a smile.

"Master." Cen Jiang smiled as well. The last time they had met in person was over 600 years ago.

"We pay our respects to Master," the numerous servants bowed respectfully.

These servants included some of his earliest Void Refiner servants, as well as some new ones arranged for him by Astral Monarch Hou Qu. Among them were nearly a hundred Earth Immortal servants, and over ten High Immortal and High Deity servants.

Wu Yuan had initially refused to take them. After all, this treatment was usually reserved for heaven-tier members of the Second Origin Eldritch Field.

Astral Monarch Hou Qu’s words had quashed his objections. "A Heaven-tier title? For someone like you, it’s just a matter of reaching out and claiming it. I’m merely giving it to you ahead of time. As for these servants, they’re only here for menial tasks—don’t overthink it," he had said.

To this, though Wu Yuan felt somewhat helpless, he no longer refused the Astral Monarch’s goodwill and chose to accept them all, leading to the scene before him now.

"Listen up, all of you. From today onwards, all arrangements on this continent will be made according to Cen Jiang's instructions," Wu Yuan ordered directly.

"Yes, Master," the many servants responded respectfully.

The servants dispersed, each proceeding with their duties. When not occupied with tasks, they would cultivate on their own, striving to reach higher phases.

Wu Yuan walked with Cen Jiang through the air above the continent.

"Congratulations on advancing to the Second Origin Eldritch Field, Master. Even the Astral Monarch regards you highly," Cen Jiang smiled.

"It’s nothing," Wu Yuan replied with a faint smile.

"Master," Cen Jiang followed Wu Yuan, staying a step behind. "Among the servants sent by the Astral Monarch, there are actually several Fourth Tribulation High Immortals and Fourth Tribulation High Deities. Their strength far surpasses my own.

Master, do you truly wish for me to take command of them?" Cen Jiang looked at Wu Yuan.

Wu Yuan couldn't help but smile.

"Whether it’s a Fourth Tribulation High Immortal or Sixth Tribulation High Immortal, it makes no difference to me," Wu Yuan said with a smile. "What I value is your loyalty."

Whoosh! Wu Yuan waved his hand, producing a storage artifact which he passed to Cen Jiang, causing her to start in surprise.

"This?" Cen Jiang was taken aback.

"Take it. You've worked hard these past 600 years," Wu Yuan said with a smile. It was no exaggeration to say that Cen Jiang was the main driving force behind the development of the Summerpeak World during the time he had been away.

Cen Jiang accepted it tentatively, but as soon as she examined its contents, her eyes widened. She looked up at Wu Yuan. "Master, these treasures?"

Stored within the artifact were numerous teachings and secret arts, as well as many spirion and celestial artifacts.

Setting aside the teachings and secret arts, the various treasures alone were worth tens of thousands of divine crystals. This was equivalent to what many Sixth Tribulation High Immortals might accumulate only after struggling for hundreds of thousands of years.

"I told you before. As my follower, I will not leave you wanting," Wu Yuan said with a smile. "Cultivate well. Those treasures are secondary; the teachings are what's truly important. I will provide you with more opportunities for Dao comprehension. Your mana body can also venture out to various regions of the eldritch world.

Work hard, and perhaps you may become an Archimmortal in the future," Wu Yuan said casually. "Only as an Archimmortal will you be of some use to me."

Cen Jiang listened with bated breath.

The last time they had met, Wu Yuan had said something similar, but she hadn't taken it too seriously, thinking that such a day was too distant in the future.

But now? She truly saw a glimmer of hope. He casually bestowed treasures worth tens of thousands of divine crystals upon her, a mere servant. How many treasures must Wu Yuan himself possess? The mere thought made Cen Jiang tremble inwardly.

"Master, Cen Jiang will certainly work hard," Cen Jiang said solemnly. A spark of desire had ignited in her heart.

Years ago, when she had been captured on the Eldritch-Immortal Battlefield and made a servant, she had lost all hope. She never imagined there would come a day when her fortunes would turn so dramatically.

A servant? With Master's talent, he will become a peak Astral Monarch-level powerhouse in the future at least. Cen Jiang thought to herself. To become the servant of such a super powerhouse is something countless ordinary Archimmortals hardly dare dream of.

Wu Yuan was naturally unaware of Cen Jiang's thoughts. His thinking was simple: over these hundreds of years, Cen Jiang had proven her loyalty. Thus she should naturally be rewarded and nurtured.

Cultivating to the High Immortal phase despite limited resources showed that she had considerable talent. With a great abundance of resources bestowed upon her, becoming an Archimmortal was within the realm of possibility.

"Master," Cen Jiang said, "Now that news of your battle with Earth Eldritch Chang Hong has spread, drawing much attention, you must be wary of assassination attempts by the Voltari Temple. Your whereabouts must not be carelessly revealed."

"Assassination by the Voltari Temple?" Wu Yuan nodded slightly.

He was well aware of this point. Historically, many geniuses of the Cang Feng Eldritch World had been killed by sleeper agents of the Voltari Temple.

Of course, many geniuses of the Voltari Temple had also fallen to covert assassinations by the Cang Feng Eldritch World.

The mutual slaughter and endless hatred of both sides naturally made Wu Yuan vigilant.

However, I won't be venturing out again before becoming a High Eldritch. Wu Yuan thought to himself, a hint of anticipation tugging at the corners of his mouth.

I wonder who the Voltari Temple will arrange to assassinate me within the eldritch world? An ordinary Archimmortal? Or perhaps an Astral Lord? Wu Yuan felt no worry, only a trace of eager expectation.

As for an Astral Monarch? Wu Yuan felt that unless the full scope of his strength was exposed, the probability was very small. Any Astral Monarch-level sleeper agent was incredibly valuable to the Voltari Temple, nearly on par with a Sovereign in terms of importance. They wouldn't be sacrificed lightly.

At the very least, in the history of the Cang Feng Eldritch World, there had never been an instance of an Astral Monarch-level sleeper agent being exposed due to an assassination attempt on a young genius.

"Master, do you intend to reside on this void continent?" Cen Jiang asked.

"No, I will reside in Summerpeak in the long term," Wu Yuan shook his head.

"Stay in Summerpeak in the long term?" Cen Jiang was taken aback.

Cang Feng Eldritch Voidrealm, within a Sovereign's temple in a particular plane.

"Master, you summoned me?" Wu Yuan bowed respectfully.

"Mm, it’s nothing major," Sovereign Kua Chi sat atop the jade platform, appearing as an ordinary middle-aged man. He smiled, his eyes twinkling with approval. "You handled yourself well during your return to the Origin Eldritch World. I’m glad you didn't let it go to your head. It's good to be cautious."

Wu Yuan nodded.

"I've already instructed Astral Monarch Xue Ying to provide you with enough divine crystal elixir to swiftly cultivate to the ninth-stage Earth Eldritch phase," Sovereign Kua Chi continued.

"Divine crystal elixir?" Wu Yuan's eyes lit up, a spark of excitement flashing across his face. He hesitated for a moment before asking, unable to contain his curiosity, "Master, how many doses?"

"Three thousand," Sovereign Kua Chi replied, his voice carrying a hint of pride. "It should be more than enough. You'll likely have some left over."

"Three thousand?" Wu Yuan's brow furrowed as he shook his head. "Master, it's not enough."

"Not enough?" This time, it was Sovereign Kua Chi's turn to be taken aback. He tilted his head, confusion evident in his voice. "Your Senior Brother Jiang Huan only used a little over two thousand doses to progress from the first-stage to ninth-stage Earth Eldritch phase, and he also possessed a first-degree immortal root."

"Master, it truly isn't enough," Wu Yuan shook his head. "I fear my internal shambhala is larger than Senior Brother Jiang Huan's."

"Much larger," Wu Yuan added, gesturing with his hands to emphasize the magnitude.

"How much do you estimate you'll need?" Sovereign Kua Chi asked, a slight frown creasing his brow.

"Thirty thousand?" Wu Yuan estimated with some uncertainty.

"Thirty thousand?" Sovereign Kua Chi's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Thirty thousand!" Wu Yuan nodded emphatically, his conviction growing stronger.

A heavy silence fell between them, stretching for several heartbeats.

"Very well, thirty thousand it is," Sovereign Kua Chi finally said, shaking his head with a rueful chuckle. "Who asked me to make such promises to my disciples?

But remember," he added, his tone growing serious, "once you reach First Tribulation High Eldritch, you're on your own. Your master truly can't afford to support you beyond that point."

"Understood," Wu Yuan replied with a smile.

"Why is your internal shambhala so vast?" Sovereign Kua Chi asked, his curiosity piqued. "You both possess first-degree immortal roots. Even accounting for individual differences, the disparity shouldn't be this significant."

"Master, this disciple’s root has already been upgraded to an Apotheosis root," Wu Yuan revealed. "Creation True Intent allows an Earth Eldritch’s root to evolve into an Apotheosis root."

After contemplating for a long time, Wu Yuan ultimately decided to disclose it. He knew that by revealing some of his secrets and displaying extraordinary talent, his master would naturally place greater importance on him.

"An Apotheosis root? You?" A hint of shock creeped into Sovereign Kua Chi’s tone. "Creation True Intent can catalyze the evolution of an Earth Eldritch’s eldritch root, breaking through the shackles of heaven and earth?"

Despite being a Sovereign, he was genuinely unaware of this information. After all, throughout the endless river of space and time, there had been few Earth Eldritches or Earth Immortals who could grasp Creation True Intent.

"How unbelievable," A broad smile spread across Sovereign Kua Chi’s face. "Excellent, truly excellent! Thirty thousand doses of divine crystal elixir? Ha! Even if it were a hundred thousand or a million doses, it would be worth it!

Worth every drop!" Sovereign Kua Chi declared, his laughter echoing through the chamber.
