Yuan’s Ascension
Chapter 1034: The Beginning Of Dao Pioneering, The First Move (2)Chapter 1034: The Beginning Of Dao Pioneering, The First Move (2)
Time flowed onward, and the years flew by.
Each scroll took Wu Yuan about a year to fully commit to memory.
Half of these eternal existences were lifeforms born in the universe, while the other half were naturally-born eternal lifeforms. They had all fully comprehended the Great Dao of Creation, but due to their unique experiences and preferences, they ultimately pioneered different Daos. Some were similar, but none were exactly alike.
Perusing scroll after scroll allowed Wu Yuan to experience countless unique cultivation journeys, treading the paths of Dao pioneering walked by numerous eternal lifeforms.
Even without deliberate contemplation, Wu Yuan’s body refiner self’s Dao comprehension continued to rise steadily.
Astonishingly, even his qi refiner self, focused on comprehending the Great Dao of Spacetime, saw its Dao comprehension improve at an alarming rate.
It was utterly unbelievable. Yet Wu Yuan found it perfectly natural. If any Sovereign had such experiences, their future advancement to the Overlord level would be effortless.
To Wu Yuan, the improvement in Dao comprehension wasn’t the most crucial aspect. What mattered most was the transformation of his perspective, knowledge, and spirit.
Indeed, transformation. As the saying goes, “With a mind enriched with literature, one naturally exudes refinement.”
Wu Yuan felt that his entire being was elevated simply from skimming and memorizing these scrolls. In the future, as he repeatedly recalled, contemplated, and pondered the profundities within these scrolls, his gains would be even greater.
This was an extraordinary opportunity. For Wu Yuan, it even surpassed the growth he’d experienced in the Megaverse Crossroads.
A thousand years passed in the blink of an eye as Wu Yuan perused all the bamboo scrolls.
Only a thousand years seemed to have passed. But for Wu Yuan, it was as if he had lived through tens of billions, or even hundreds of billions of years of experiences.
With a soft exhale, Wu Yuan’s body refiner self gently set down the scroll in his hand. His entire demeanor had utterly changed.
In the past, no matter how much he had evolved, truly powerful beings could always detect his immaturity and sharpness. But now? Wu Yuan had genuinely transformed, growing incredibly composed, as if weathered by the passage of trillions of years.
This wasn’t a blade grown dull. It was a blade sheathed!
If other Overlords or even eternal lifeforms were to see Wu Yuan now, they would likely be astounded.
These thousand years of cultivation finally convinced Wu Yuan that with such a profound foundation, he truly had hope of pioneering his own Dao while still a sempiternal lifeform.
However, Wu Yuan’s heart held no pride, not even a trace of self-satisfaction. Having witnessed the journeys of over a thousand eternal lifeforms, he had completely set aside his arrogance and former hints of conceit.
I’m really not anything special. Perhaps I have some talent. But throughout endless ages, among the countless Overlords in history, not to mention these eternal lifeforms, who among them wasn’t a peerless genius? Who among them was weak? Wu Yuan could now truly examine his past with equanimity.
Apart from my own efforts, I’ve simply had more luck than many Overlords and eternal lifeforms.
There was no need to attribute all his luck and favorable circumstances to his own strength and hard work.
Nevertheless, since I’ve come this far and reached where I am today, all I can do is carry this luck with me as I climb to greater heights. Wu Yuan’s body refiner self gently closed his eyes.
In that moment, countless insights surged through his mind.
There was the ‘Will of Life and Death’ he had once cultivated, along with the multitude of eternal-level teachings he had perused over the past millennium—dozens of which were True Saint ultimate techniques no less profound than the ‘Will of Life and Death,’ and some even containing greater profundities. After all, the ‘Will of Life and Death’ only peaked at the Overlord level.
A soft exhalation escaped Wu Yuan’s lips.
At some point, a hazy aura had enveloped Wu Yuan, shrouding him in the profundities of the Great Dao of Creation.
Over the past thousand years, Wu Yuan had unconsciously advanced his comprehension of the Great Dao of Creation to the eighth-level Dao Field stage.
But the breakthrough in Dao comprehension no longer concerned Wu Yuan greatly.
His body refiner self began to reorganize and contemplate all he had gained over the past thousand years, seeking to glimpse and pioneer his own unique Dao.
The Dao one pioneered was ultimately the power one could truly master.
However, after a brief attempt, Wu Yuan realized that it was easier said than done. While it had seemed effortless for those eternal lifeforms to pioneer their Daos, Wu Yuan now found himself facing countless obstacles.
The Dao my body refiner self pioneers must inevitably stem from the Great Dao of Creation, and it must also encompass the profundities of the Life Chapter of the Primordial Doctrine. Wu Yuan had long since made this decision.
Only by encompassing two eternal paths could the Dao he pioneered be sufficiently powerful.
Wu Yuan now understood that Dao pioneering was like constructing a house in the mortal world. The so-called steps of eternity were merely the gradual perfection and completion of that house.
Although any house could be continually renovated and improved, the foundation was of utmost importance. Just as a building initially planned for three stories might eventually be built up to six or seven through additions, that would be its limit. It could never become a twenty-story building. The foundation wouldn’t be large or stable enough to support such a tall structure. Forced construction would only lead to the entire building’s collapse.
The path of cultivation followed the same principle. Some eternal lifeforms pioneered Daos that were inherently weak, allowing them to take the first two steps at most, with even the third step being extremely difficult. The fourth step? Pure wishful thinking.
Many eternal lifeforms, in the process of Dao pioneering, would also cultivate other eternal paths, gradually integrating them to strengthen their foundation. Wu Yuan thought to himself. As a sempiternal lifeform, I cannot cultivate more Great Daos—this is my disadvantage compared to many eternal lifeforms. But at least I’m already cultivating two eternal paths.
Naturally, Wu Yuan wanted to make the foundation of his Dao more solid, preparing for the potential third and even fourth step in the future.
However, the more powerful the Dao, the more difficult it was to pioneer. Moreover, Wu Yuan had yet to fully comprehend either the profundities of matter or the Great Dao of Creation.
My advantages are the profound foundation established from over a thousand eternal teachings, and the guidance of the Great Dao’s essence after merging with the Great Dao’s Authority.
And, the Ancestral Pagoda. Wu Yuan’s heart remained tranquil.
The identity of Ancestral Pagoda Archon allowed him to form a spectral image of the pagoda within his body with a mere thought. Once formed, its imposing aura could completely resist the suppression of heaven and earth’s rules. It could even resist the suppression of the Great Daos.
In simpler terms, Wu Yuan’s body refiner self could easily resist all suppression from external essences wherever he was. Be it the vast suppression of the River of Universes, a universe’s essence, or a macrocosm’s essence, Wu Yuan’s body refiner self could almost ignore them all.
This was because the Ancestral Pagoda represented the supreme, coexisting with the Primordial Rules. This was the wonder of a supreme divine object, and the special privilege of being the Ancestral Pagoda Archon.
Of course, this immunity was limited to Wu Yuan’s current state as a sempiternal lifeform. If he were to achieve eternity in the future and return to the River of Universes, he would still be greatly affected.
At least for now, it’s enough to aid me in Dao pioneering. Wu Yuan thought to himself.
With the projection of the Ancestral Pagoda, Wu Yuan could attempt to fuse the matter profundities and the Great Dao of Creation into the Primordial Rules.
The profundities of the Primordial Rules transcended even the Great Daos. With the profundities of the Primordial Rules as a foundation and reference, Wu Yuan had greater hope of pioneering his own Dao.
…
In the distant Ling Jiang Universe, within the Ming Jian Realm of the Greenridge Macrocosm.
My body refiner self has numerous opportunities, but pioneering its own Dao remains incredibly challenging. Who knows how long it will take? Wu Yuan’s qi refiner self sat motionless. As for my qi refiner self? Though its conditions aren’t as favorable as my body refiner self, it must still strive to make the attempt.
If both true selves could simultaneously pioneer a Dao at the sempiternal lifeform stage, that would truly be a mythical feat.
…
Time flowed by silently as Wu Yuan cultivated, both of his true selves immersed in comprehension and deduction.
Wu Yuan’s body refiner self’s understanding grew deeper, his grasp of the Great Dao of Creation and the Life Chapter of the Primordial Doctrine increasingly profound.
In the two thousand years since Wu Yuan regained consciousness, he had unknowingly deduced over 3900 Primal Force Diagrams. Such speed was absolutely astounding.
It could be said that once Wu Yuan’s physical body completed the process of matter restructuring, his physical power would rival that of a sixth-stage Sovereign powerhouse.
Yet this was merely a minor gain for Wu Yuan.
My Dao encompasses too much. Dao pioneering is always based on comprehension at the Eternal level. To truly pioneer a Dao, I fear I must advance both paths extremely close to that level. Wu Yuan realized after over a thousand years of cultivation.
Dao pioneering is certainly not accomplished in a single bound. Rather, it should progress step by step. Though my foundation is now decent, it’s still not enough. I need to accumulate even more before I can hope to take that final step.
What I must do is create my own ultimate combat technique based on my current foundation. The Will of Life and Death is excellent, but ultimately not my own. Wu Yuan’s eyes were utterly calm. The many Eternal teachings can only serve as references to draw upon.
Whoosh! A jet-black saber materialized in Wu Yuan’s palm – a Mo Yuan Saber.
A thousand years of comprehension. The matter profundities, insights into the Great Dao of Creation, combining to form Primordial Rules… they have only just begun to fuse into one. Wu Yuan murmured to himself.
In the next moment, Wu Yuan stood up, his gaze fixed on the distant, gloomy void. The Mo Yuan saber moved.
Swish! The saber sliced through the void, containing not a shred of mana, yet the blade ray surged, as if carving out a new world. The world around transformed dramatically, appearing to birth countless living beings, celestial beasts, and cultivators within. The world brimmed with vitality, flourishing, having already reached the pinnacle of the Law of Life.
But immediately after, time flowed, and intangible ripples suddenly burst forth from the blade ray, causing this illusory realm to collapse, swiftly transforming into a world-ending scene. Its power grew increasingly devastating.
Finally, that blade ray metamorphosed into a truly apocalyptic strike, utterly annihilating everything, completely eradicating the countless phantasmal lifeforms, reducing all to oblivion, leaving only chaotic currents surging.
This move, from birth to death, from genesis to pinnacle to destruction, perfectly melded the profundities of Life and Death!
And the vast, magnificent fluctuations it emitted faintly transcended the scope of the Great Dao of Creation.
The first move. This is the strongest technique I’ve created so far, and the beginning of pioneering my Dao. Wu Yuan gently closed his eyes, murmuring. I shall name it the Wheel of Life and Death.
Although Wu Yuan’s comprehension of the Great Dao of Creation was only at the eighth-level Dao Field stage, this move he’d created already reached the level of most Overlords’ ultimate techniques.
It already rivaled the ultimate techniques of many Overlords with ninth-level Dao Field stage comprehension.
