System's POV

Chapter 941 - 941: He Acts Tough, But He’s Only A Third-Rate Villain

Siri and Princess Aracelle met up to depart the Antares Continent and head back to the Cygni Continent together.

Along their way, several Jinns from the other factions greeted Siri and asked her where she was going.

As much as she itched to retort by telling them it was none of their business, she held herself back as the other party’s Masters were a pain to deal with. In the end, the young lady decided to tell the truth so they could be on their way.

“I’m headed to the Cygni Continent,” Siri replied. “Now, can you please let us pass? We’re in a hurry.”

The Three-Legged Crow blocking the path of the young ladies chuckled before shifting its gaze to Princess Aracelle.

“This is the first time I’ve seen this young lady,” the Crow said. “But I can tell that she also hails from House Pavareth. Both of your bloodlines are making me feel itchy.”

“Then you better scratch that itch, Mr. Crow,” Princess Aracelle replied with a smile. “Who knows? Maybe there are some mites hiding under your feathers.”

“Clever little peacock.” The Crow didn’t seem offended by the princess’ subtle jab and even seemed to find her interesting. “What is your relationship with her, Siri?”

“She’s my cousin,” Siri replied. “Can we go now?”

If the meddlesome crow wasn’t a Rank 8 Sovereign, she might have already taken the initiative to attack.

“Before that, has your mother reconsidered the offer of our Prince?” the Crow inquired. “The Vermilion Royal Family wishes to form a lasting partnership and alliance with your family. As such, our Prince strongly hopes that you will accept his proposal for marriage.”

“How many times should I tell you I am not interested in the Vermilion Prince?” Siri asked. “My mother also has no intention of marrying me off to your Master, so can you just give up?”

“Well, if you don’t want to marry him, how about this cousin of yours?” The Crow eyed Princess Aracelle. “I think she and our prince are a perfect match. How about you visit our castle and introduce her to him?”

“I’m not interested in meeting your Prince,” Princess Aracelle stated. “Now, can you move aside? We have important matters to attend to.”

“Oh, dear. This young miss has a temper.” The Crow chuckled. “It seems her temper is worse than yours, Siri. But she’s much more beautiful than you, so I can forgive her.”

Siri was this close to spitting at the Crow and roasting him over an open fire.

Unfortunately, those who belonged to the Vermilion Bird Clan had very high resistance to flames, so it was nearly impossible for them to get hurt by any flame-related attacks or abilities.

Not to mention, she knew Princess Aracelle was indeed a notch more beautiful than her. Even so, no lady would want to hear others saying they were not as beautiful as the girl right next to them.

“Move aside, Crow.” Princess Aracelle, who was starting to lose her patience, narrowed her eyes.

Now that she had been granted her freedom, she wished to return to the Cygni Continent as soon as possible.

However, the bird brain seemed very eager to mess with them and kept on blocking their way, making her feel very irritated and annoyed.

Just as the two girls were about to start throwing hands, Zed appeared and hovered between the three-legged Crow and the two ladies, who were riding on the back of a Greater Bird of Paradise.

“Move it, Crow,” Zed said. “Or I’ll force you to move.”

“Oh?” the Crow arched an eyebrow as this was the first time he was seeing Zed. “And who might you be?”

Instead of giving a proper reply, Zed smashed his fist on the crow’s face, sending the latter flying.

Although both of them were Rank 8 Sovereigns, Zed was only a step away from becoming a Rank 9 Sovereign.

Thirteen had helped the Demihuman Roc raise his rank after the latter swore allegiance to him.

Naturally, Metatron was more than happy to give Zed some benefits so he would become the teenage boy’s protector.

“How dare you?!” the Crow angrily screeched. “Are you declaring war against the Vermilion Royal Family?!”

“If you got guts, come and fight against House Pavareth,” Zed replied before throwing another punch at the Crow, who couldn’t match his speed.

The corner of Princess Aracelle’s lips twitched after hearing Zed use her family as a shield to escape the responsibility of beating the crap out of the three-legged Crow.

But the Crow was truly annoying, so she even cheered for Zed, whom Thirteen had ordered to become her bodyguard during his stay in the Antares Continent.

The members of the other Factions watched this entertaining scene and even laughed at the three-legged Crow’s suffering.

They were not allies, but competitors and rivals.

Seeing that one of them was getting pummeled to oblivion, the members of the peanut gallery cheered, even shouting that Zed finish off the Crow.

“Y-You! I will remember this!” the Crow shouted before flying away. “This isn’t over!”

Zed clicked his tongue as he watched the retreating Jinn in the distance. “He acts tough, but he’s only a third-rate villain. How pathetic.”

Siri gave Zed a thumbs up before urging her Greater Bird of Paradise to resume its flight.

Zed followed behind the two girls just in case the Crow returned with some reinforcements.

Only after they had safely made it to the open sea did Siri sigh a breath of relief. She worried that the petty crow would call his Prince to avenge it.

“I didn’t know that the Vermillion Bird Family has already planted their roots here in Pangea,” Princess Aracelle said. “They are a very troublesome bunch.”

“You bet they are,” Siri replied. “Although their Prince is actually very decent, I just hate them continuously pushing for a marriage even after my mother and I said no many times.”

“Well, your true form is that of a bird, so I guess that’s one of the reasons why that Prince is interested in you,” Princess Aracelle commented.

“Wow, look who’s talking.” Siri smirked. “Tell me, did Zion pluck your feathers until nothing is left or did he… pluck something else from you?”

“You’re right,” Princess Aracelle replied. “He plucked all of my feathers and plucked something else as well.”

“… Are you for real?” Siri’s eyes widened in shock. “H-He really plucked all of your feathers?”

The young lady then hissed and immediately labeled the teenage boy as a devil whom she mustn’t offend.

Siri already experienced what it was like to fight against Zion in the Temple of Courage and even wanted to ask him for a revenge match.

The young lady had trained extremely hard during the past two years and believed that the next time she fought against Zion, the one who would be standing on top was none other than her.

“The two of us are going to spend a few days traveling,” Princess Aracelle said. “So, to pass up time, how about you tell me how you met Zion?”

“Well, I guess I can tell you how we met.” Siri pondered. “It all started during my first wandering. I met Zion in a place called Absolute Heaven.”

The moment she started talking, she was no longer able to stop and told the Princess everything.

Including her defeat against the teenage boy in the Temple of Courage.

Princess Aracelle listened silently because she enjoyed hearing stories about Zion.

Zed, who was following behind the two ladies, only shook her head because his Master really had a way of making the most arrogant and prideful ladies melt from his touch.
