The battlefield stood still. Silence filled the air as all eyes fixated on the fallen head of the Space God. No one could believe their eyes. A mortal, Kent Clark, had slain a demigod with a single strike. The heavens themselves seemed to hold their breath as the truth of the moment sank in.
The Space God, a being of celestial might, had not even managed to react before his end came. His body lay lifeless on the battlefield, his divine blood staining the earth.
The first to break the silence were the allied demigods of the Space God. The Fire God stepped forward, flames flickering wildly around him. His voice erupted like an inferno.
“HOW DARE YOU?! Do you think you can kill a god as you please? The Space God fought for the balance of the spirit world, and yet you struck him down like a common enemy! You, an immature brat, dared to kill a deity while he was not even in battle stance?”
The Frost God, his icy aura seeping into the surroundings, narrowed his glowing blue eyes. “Kent Clark, you have overstepped. Do you believe for even a second that you are stronger than the gods? That you can challenge us without consequence?”
The God of Weapons clenched his massive war axe. “This is sin of the highest order! The punishment for striking down a god is death! No mortal should be allowed to commit such blasphemy and walk freely!”
Other gods murmured in agreement, their divine presence causing tremors across the battlefield. The air grew heavy with judgment, their wrath descending upon Kent like an impending storm.
Kent, however, stood tall. He did not waver under their furious gazes. Instead, he met their anger with an icy glare of his own. He raised his sword and pointed it towards them.
“If any of you think that the death of the Space God was an accident, step forward. I, Kent Clark, will make sure you understand your place. You believe strength only comes with godhood? Then come! Challenge me! Let’s see who truly holds power!”
Gasps rippled through the battlefield. The gods exchanged astonished glances. No mortal had ever dared to speak to them this way.
The Frost God roared in anger. “You are crossing the line!”
Kent took a step forward, his voice slicing through the battlefield like a blade. “No. You crossed the line long ago by sitting idly while we suffered! For decades, the human race worshiped you, prayed for your blessings. And what did you do? When calamity struck, you sat in your heavenly halls, watching, amused, as we fought and bled!”
The gods shifted uncomfortably.
“What is the meaning of being a god?” Kent continued, his voice carrying over the battlefield. “A god is supposed to protect. To stand as a guardian! But you… you are no better than the demons you claim to despise! You are parasites, feeding off the faith of mortals while doing nothing in return. Well, tonight, I will make sure no human ever utters your names again!”
The gods stood stunned, unable to counter his words. The battlefield, once frozen in shock, began to tremble—not with divine wrath, but with something more terrifying.
Doubt.
Kent turned away from the gods, marching toward his army. The demon forces, seizing the opportunity, launched a renewed assault on the human defenses. The ground quaked as colossal war beasts battered against the shield walls, and the screams of warriors echoed across the battlefield.
The Forbidden Goddess stood atop a demon war chariot, her face unreadable. She watched Kent with piercing eyes, her hands gripping the red whip. “Do I fight, or do I escape?” she murmured to herself.
Meanwhile, among the gods, something unexpected happened.
The Goddess of Lust was the first to move. Without a word, she rushed forward, her divine energy blazing behind her. “Enough of this debate! I refuse to let the demons destroy what remains!”
The War God clenched his fists, stepping forward. “Damn it all… We should have acted long ago.” He turned to his generals. “Everyone… move. We fight in support of humanity!”
The Storm God let out a deep sigh before raising his hand. “Then I shall join as well. The time for passivity is over.”
One by one, more gods stepped forward, their auras igniting the battlefield. The tide was turning.
The moment the gods entered the battlefield, the balance shifted. Divine lightning cracked through the demon ranks as the Storm God unleashed his fury. The War God, wielding his great blade, cut through demon generals like paper. The Goddess of Lust entranced her foes, causing them to turn their blades upon one another.
The battlefield became a maelstrom of divine and mortal power.
The Forbidden Goddess, seeing her forces being eradicated, roared in fury. Her body pulsed with dark energy as she shed her spirit form, ascending to her true incarnation. Eight arms stretched from her back, each gripping a weapon of devastation. Her eyes burned with black fire, and her form grew, towering over the battlefield.
The entire spirit world trembled as her scream of wrath echoed through the heavens.
The remaining demigods, once hesitant, now realized the true danger. Fear flickered in their eyes.
“If we do not stop her now, she will become uncontrollable!” the Frost God shouted.
“Damn it! She has reached her ultimate form!” the Fire God roared. “We must act NOW!”
Even the Space God’s former allies knew there was no turning back. “We… we cannot let this madness continue,” the God of Weapons murmured.
The gods unleashed their ultimate attacks. The Storm God raised his lightening bolt like weapon, calling forth a storm that shattered the demon lines, frying them in divine lightning. The War God swung his sword in a wide arc, sending waves of golden energy that vaporized thousands of demons at once. The Goddess of Lust unleashed a spell that melted the minds of the demon commanders, forcing them to turn against their own kind.
The Forbidden Goddess roared, her eight arms moving in a flurry, striking down gods and mortals alike. She unleashed a storm of black fire, incinerating anything in its path.
But the gods were relentless. The Fire God charged forward, his flames clashing with hers, creating an explosion that tore through the battlefield. The Frost God summoned glaciers from the sky, impaling demons and sealing them in eternal ice.
The war raged on, gods and mortals standing side by side.
And thus, the final battle for the fate of the spirit world had begun.
