Splitting the Heavens

Chapter 1500: Establishing the World

"If the Azure Ruling World ascends now, will it be possible to hold the Spirit Frost World off?” Shang Xia asked the Ying Brothers seriously.

However, they did not respond to his question. Instead, they stared at him in astonishment. Song Zhen and Xin Lu did the same, as though they heard something unbelievable.

"How can the Azure Ruling World ascend to a Spirit World now? There are still at least 4 continents that have not yet reached the required level!”

The concern among the group was not whether the Azure Ruling World could resist the Spirit Frost World after ascending, but rather, how the Azure Ruling World could possibly ascend that very moment.

Had Shang Xia not been regarded as their pillar of support, some might have doubted his sanity.

Yet seeing Shang Xia's calm and confident demeanor, everyone gradually put away their shocked expressions and seriously considered what he suggested.

"Can you really do it?" Despite finding it unbelievable, Ying Lianxi couldn't help but ask.

"How would it be done?" Ying Lianquan also followed up with a question.

Seeing Shang Xia smile without answering, the Ying Brothers did not press further. They suspected that the matter might involve certain secrets.

Thus, they instead began to seriously ponder the possibility of the Azure Ruling World truly ascending to a Spirit World.

"Ascending isn't something that can be achieved overnight..." Ying Lianxi started with this observation.

However, Ying Lianquan quickly added, "Maybe this could be an opportunity for us to regain our strength completely?!"

Song Zhen also joined in, "Not just that. Without the remains of the high-level True Immortal and a connection to a Spirit World, will the vine beast king still choose to side with the Spirit Frost World if they have a chance to ascend?”

After all, the vine beast king initially sided with the Spirit Frost World because it had the opportunity to advance to become a high-level True Immortal-level creature at any time but was unable due to the restrictions of the Azure Ruling World. That was why it made everything happen in the first place.

Now that the vine beast king has the opportunity to ascend, it wouldn’t favor being integrated into another world. Even if everything progressed smoothly, it would be weakened for hundreds of years.

In a way, it had no choice!

"If there really are 3 fourth tier True Immortal-level creatures supported by the World’s Will, it’s not impossible to put up a fight!” Ying Lianxi thought out loud after some consideration.

Of course, all that was all with the prerequisite that Shang Xia would be able to hold back the strongest spiritual beast king in the grand completion stage.

However, when they looked at him, they were met with a smile and a laugh. "Well then, let's begin. The spiritual beast kings from the Spirit Frost World are about to arrive!”

After successfully passing through the chaotic streams and assembling at the edge of the Azure Ruling World's region of space, the mighty spiritual beast kings of many shapes and forms didn’t immediately rush at the Azure Ruling World.

The Spirit Frost World that was also overrun by spiritual beasts, lacked Star Ships capable of crossing the chaotic streams. They could only fly over by relying on their powerful physique. ꭆἁɴöʙЁṦ

Therefore, even though the weakest spiritual beast kings were comparable to second tier True Immortals, they suffered some injuries. They had to pause to recover.

Meanwhile, the forces of the Azure Ruling World were already taking action during their brief respite.

Song Zhen and Zhu Nang first sent their own Spirit Ark into the Azure Ruling World, then led their two large-scale Star Ships and dozens of middle to high-level warriors out from under the heavenly screen to line up in the void.

The Ying Brothers actually split up and went to look for third tier True Immortal-level spiritual beast kings from the Azure Ruling World, the vine beast king, and the colorful bird king. Hopefully, they would unify under the threat of a massive invasion from the Spirit Frost World.

As for the pair of Twin Star Pirates who successfully entered the Martial Void Realm, there was no time to consolidate their foundations. Under the instructions of the Ying Brothers, they took on the most crucial role in resisting the invasion.

The floating continent outside the heavenly screen had already been cleared, leaving only Shang Xia, Xin Lu, and Yan Ming.

Watching Shang Xia, who was sitting in meditation at the edge of the floating continent, adjusting his state and accumulating his energy, Xin Lu expressed her concerns to Yan Ming. "Can this really work? Can he really push an Azure World to ascend? It seems like a myth…”

Yan Ming replied irritably, "It's just a temporary effect, didn't you hear his explanation? In a sense, it's just giving the Azure Ruling World's will the illusion of an imminent ascension, not actually making it ascend to a Spirit World."

Xin Lu still protested, "Even so, isn't the series of measures for the Azure Ruling World's preliminary ascension real? Besides, he can't enter the Azure Ruling World."

Yan Ming rolled her eyes, "What does that have to do with you? If it comes to it, we can leave! We're not tied down to the Azure Ruling World like the Twin Star Pirates are. You're not seriously considering sacrificing our lives for them, are you?"

Caught off guard by the comment, Xin Lu gasped, "Right!"

But Xin Lu quickly recovered and gave Yan Ming a suspicious look, making the latter uncomfortable.

"What are you looking at?" Yan Ming couldn't help but raise her voice.

Xin Lu chuckled, "I was just thinking you've been off since you met me, are you jealous I became a Grand Stargazer before you?”

"What's there to be jealous of? Is being a Grand Stargazer that great?" Yan Ming's tone involuntarily rose, but she then muttered, "It's just dumb luck."

Xin Lu's smile widened, about to tease Yan Ming further, but was suddenly interrupted by the rising aura from Shang Xia.

In that instant, Shang Xia was merely sitting quietly, yet the surging energy emanating from him was so intense that even the void hundreds of miles around him began to distort.

"It's starting!"

Xin Lu and Yan Ming had already kept a considerable distance from Shang Xia but now found themselves retreating even further back.

Meanwhile, on the edge of the void far from the Azure Ruling World's heavenly screen, more than 10 massive beasts, each exuding a powerful aura, stared into the distance. The void trembled with every breath they took.

Suddenly, a beast that appeared to be the smallest among them, resembling a giant ape, stood up. Its golden eyes seemed to shoot sharp glints toward the direction of the Azure Ruling World, causing a stir among the surrounding creatures. Even the chaotic streams quelled a little.

Just then, inside the Azure Ruling World, the recently ascended Twin Star Pirates, Shi Zhongyuan and Shi Zhongyi, were carefully moving a massive stone pillar through the low skies at an extremely slow speed.

"Should it be here?" The younger brother, Shi Zhongyi, stabilized the pillar just a hundred feet above the ground and asked his brother, while wiping sweat from his forehead.

A True Immortal, even one who had just advanced, shouldn’t be sweating just from carrying a stone pillar! If others heard what was happening, they would find it a joke, however, it was really happening!

When the two leaders first handed the pillar to the brothers, they specifically warned them that the stick they were about to carry was very heavy and to be careful and do their best.

Back then, the Shi Brothers thought that the Ying Brothers were making a big fuss.

It’s just a stick… How heavy can it be?

But as the brothers followed the leaders' instructions to search for a continent not yet fully realized within the Azure Ruling World, the pillar not only became thicker, but also heavier.

Initially, the stick was casually held by the elder brother, Shi Zhongyuan. He even held it with a single hand. However, within less than a quarter of an hour, he had to hoist it onto his shoulder.

Another quarter of an hour passed and Shi Zhongyuan had to call his brother to help. Both of them held it from each end.

After the same amount of time passed, the brothers, originally flying high in the skies, had to descend lower and lower, and even their flying speed slowed to a crawl.

Yet the "stick," now a "stone pillar," continued to grow heavier, forcing the newly ascended True Immortals to repeatedly use their scarce inner qi to force themselves to march onwards. Sweat poured down their bodies.

However, during the process, the brothers also found that despite the massive consumption of their inner qi, it helped to solidify their foundations. Even their previously unstable cultivation began to settle.

Finally reaching a continent that hadn’t reached a state of perfection, they followed their chiefs’ instructions and slammed the pillar into the ground.

Shi Zhongyi looked up at the top of the pillar and turned to ask his twin brother, "What's the use of this pillar? The leaders were so secretive about it, we’re the only other twin True Immortals in the Twin Star Pirates. What’s so important we can’t know?”

Before he could finish speaking, he saw his brother still looking up at the top of the pillar as if he hadn't heard a word.

Shi Zhongyi snorted curiously and was about to look up too when suddenly his footing gave way, causing him to stagger and instinctively reach out to grab the pillar.

Startled, Shi Zhongyi turned to look but found himself continuing to sink.

At that moment, Shi Zhongyi felt another arm tighten around him, and then he was pulled back by his brother.

"What's going on, what happened?" Just as Shi Zhongyi finished speaking, he saw the reason.

The pillar, originally as thick as a thigh and thirty feet long, began to grow rapidly once it was erected on the ground.

Not only was it growing thicker, it broke through the clouds and was still reaching for the heavens!

The other end of the pillar was also sinking into the earth, causing the ground to collapse and nearly swallow Shi Zhongyi.

"Could this be the holy artifact used to establish an Elysium? Is it a Heaven Supporting Jade Pillar?" Shi Zhongyi murmured to himself.

Shi Zhongyuan looked at his brother and then at the top of the pillar and said solemnly, "What kind of Heaven Supporting Jade Pillar grows this tall? This is a World Supporting Jade Pillar!”
