Chapter 724: 669: Old Friends and Seeking Revenge_2

Chapter 724: Chapter 669: Old Friends and Seeking Revenge_2

Overlooking the entire paradise, a sudden thought flashed through his mind.

He slightly furrowed his brow.

“What’s the matter?” Meg asked in surprise.

“I just thought of something. Have you ever heard of the Ash Plane?” Ivan didn’t hold back.

“You mean the Trembling Paradise—–”

Meg knew he wouldn’t ask this question for no reason. After thinking carefully, she realized why he brought it up.

Danaila herself possessed the ability to turn the powers of other planes into her own.

The Trembling Paradise as related to the Ash Plane?

In thinking more about it, there were indeed similarities between the two; once inside, they could silently drain others’ powers, including the intangible fate and crucial lifeforce.

But there were also many discrepancies.

“Let’s go, I’ll introduce you to some friends.”

“Alright.”

Thinking more was pointless, so the two of them lunged forward without haste, flying into the Great Rift Valley.

“Julia, an old friend visits, please come out to meet.” Before the paradise could show hostility, Ivan’s voice was transmitted deep into the rift.

“Sorcerer Ivan?”

“Nicole, it’s been a long time.”

After entering the Great Rift Valley, Ivan didn’t sense the presence of Julia and others. He didn’t intentionally perceive the entire paradise, as that would be impolite.

A delicate figure approached; though she seemed fragile, she was actually an Ancient King.

Nicole was known for her shy disposition and didn’t like to speak much. Ivan knew her, but wasn’t very familiar.

“Yes, almost a hundred years.”

Hearing his words, Nicole responded with a hint of melancholy.

“Are you all okay? I haven’t seen Julia, Charles, or the others. Are they not here?” Ivan couldn’t help but ask when he saw no one else appear.

“Yes, they’ve all left the paradise.”

“Oh, where did they go?”

“I don’t know, Julia didn’t say, Charles didn’t say either, I don’t know.”

Nicole paused for a moment, waving her hand in a fluster.

She clearly wasn’t good at lying.

“So, they’re all gone, and now you’re the one in charge of the paradise?” Ivan didn’t expose her.

“Yes.” Seeing him change the subject, Nicole secretly sighed in relief.

“I have no other intentions for being here, I just want to introduce a friend to you, who is also your neighbor; you might have heard his name, Meg Clement Elsop.”

Ivan introduced Meg.

He brought Meg along, hoping that Meg would look after Julia and the others, since they were neighbors, it was convenient to take care of them.

“You are the Azure Throne?”

Nicole paused again, quickly greeting after realizing.

“It’s me, I live not far away in Clement’s Forest, feel free to visit when you have time.” Meg was naturally easy-going, especially with Ivan’s introduction.

“Wait, Sorcerer Ivan, you aren’t the True Witch King, are you?”

Nicole suddenly remembered another throne that had announced itself to the whole plane and asked with wide eyes.

“Of course. Your paradise’s news is terribly outdated.” Ivan stared at her speechlessly; she should have thought of this sooner.

“Sorry, sorry, I was rude.” Nicole blushed slightly, remembering she was the one in charge now. “My lords, please follow me.”

“You’re being too courteous, don’t worry, Meg isn’t one to care about formalities.”

“—–”

Meg whispered to Ivan that Nicole’s true form was a plant resembling a shy leaf, very sensitive by nature.

During their visit to the paradise, Nicole clearly had something on her mind, her enthusiasm was low throughout, and she never mentioned anything until they left the Trembling Paradise.

In such circumstances, Ivan couldn’t even help if he wanted to.

Finally, when parting with Meg, Ivan asked him to look after the paradise, and Meg readily agreed.

“By the way, back then I was pursued across the heavens and earth by those three shameless old fellows and suffered quite a bit. I haven’t repaid that kindness yet.”

After seeing Meg off, Ivan said with a cold smile.

Back then, he was just a Level 4 Arcane Wizard, chased by the Twin-headed Venom Dragon, Snake-man Ancient King, and Blood Elf King, three Level 5 Ancient Kings. The three often worked together, forcing him to flee into the Trembling Paradise.

He never forgot that humiliating time.

“It’s time to settle the score!”

Beings of the throne and above were supposed to be bound by the Warden Alliance’s pact, prohibited from wantonly causing bloodshed, but there was never anything stopping them from exacting revenge.

Since he was revisiting an old place, some matters had to be handled.

The Twin-headed Venom Dragon resided on the third underground layer.

This third underground layer was vast beyond measure; finding someone wasn’t an easy task, but he knew where to find them.

A streak of light pierced through the darkness of the Underworld.

After half a day, he arrived at an extremely hot location, where there was a scorching lava lake, and the sound of hissing steam could be heard, as the flow of hot air gave rise to flashes of lightning.

He slowly landed on the fiery shore and saw a colossal head emerge from the lava, staring intently at him.

“True Witch King, what brings you to my domain?”

“I wish to trouble a Twin-headed Venom Dragon and came to greet you, Dragon King of Flame, out of courtesy.”

Residing in the lava lake was a fire element dragon, said to be not pure dragon kind but a creature leaning towards elemental, with a rather irritable temperament.

Previously, the Dragon King of Flame hadn’t gone to the sixth underground layer to bear witness.

Ivan wasn’t sure if the dragon before him would show respect.

“Did Lu Long offend you?” The Flame Dragon snorted out a blast of fire.

“Yes, a great enmity exists.” Ivan nodded, candidly saying, “To be honest, when I was just a Lord, he joined two other Ancient Kings in hunting me. You tell me, should I give him trouble?”

“——”

In its excitement, the Flame Dragon revealed half its body, immense and blazing like fire.

It stared intensely at the sorcerer on the shore, with its nostrils emitting intermittent flames and sparks flying everywhere, indicating the urge to act.

For a moment, the surrounding air turned thick as a block.

“Lu Long, get over here!” Just as Ivan thought he wouldn’t get respect, the Flame Dragon suddenly roared around the surroundings, its voice thunderous.

After speaking, it continued to fixate on the sorcerer on the shore, as if pondering something.

Ivan was even more puzzled.

“Lord Flame Dragon, Lu Long present.”

After a while, commotion came from afar, and a familiar Twin-headed Venom Dragon hurried over, settling down, not daring to glance at the lava lake.

“Lift your head for me.”

“Yes, Lord Flame Dragon.”

“Use your dog eyes and take a good look, do you recognize this True Witch King?”

As the Twin-headed Venom Dragon lifted its head, Ivan cooperatively turned around and looked at it with a slight smile.

Gazing at this familiar figure, the Twin-headed Venom Dragon was stunned.

“You—-True Witch King?” one head said.

“We are doomed.” the other head followed.

Both heads knew that their former enemy had come, and what’s more, as the famed True Witch King, they were in big trouble.

The Twin-headed Venom Dragon could only hope for the Flame Dragon King’s protection, with both heads and all four eyes pleadingly looking towards the lord in the lake, only to hear the Flame Dragon King speak.

“True Witch King, here is the person, take him away.”

Upon hearing this, the Twin-headed Venom Dragon was completely dumbfounded.

It wanted to plead for mercy but was suppressed on the spot by a deep power, rendering it unable to speak any further.

“Thank you, Flame Dragon King. I won’t trouble you further.” Ivan, despite his doubts, wouldn’t trouble himself, swirled the sizeable venom dragon away with a wave.

In the lava lake, the Flame Dragon King’s head remained lifted, watching him leave until he vanished from sight.

“What a True Witch King, who even carries a Holy Artifact of my dragon race, a treasure of the clan, and according to the old rules, should he take it out, this dragon will have to obey his command.”

The Flame Dragon King originally didn’t intend to show the sorcerer respect.

If others came looking, only to have him hand over his subordinate willingly, how humiliating would that be?

However, as he was about to act, he sensed an exceptionally subtle aura, making him realize that this sorcerer was not someone to provoke.

Not only was he not to be provoked, but he should be befriended, as in the future, there might be many occasions for asking favors.

A subordinate without insight, if lost, is lost. After all, he was so unlucky to have offended this swiftly rising throne.
