Reborn into Naruto World with Tenseigan
Chapter 898 Elder Hiruzen’s WorriesOn one of the narrow streets of the Uchiha District, Shisui stood ominously, his long sword glistening with fresh blood. Wrapped in a gold-threaded black Amatsukami Cloak and wearing a mask adorned with fiery patterns, he appeared less divine and more malevolent, emanating a bone-chilling aura that deterred anyone from approaching.
The Uchiha Clansmen lay sprawled on the street, their blood splattered on walls and pavements, filling the air with a pungent scent of iron. Despite their injuries, they clung to life, their cries of pain and curses directed towards the man before them, their savior now turned assailant.
“Darn you, Homusubi!”
“My leg… it’s going numb!”
“Shisui-sama and Shinichi-sama will never forgive you!”
Although weakened, the cries and curses persisted, revealing that Shinichi and Shisui had inflicted injuries but refrained from delivering fatal blows. The night had seen relatively few casualties as per Kuroto’s orders. The plan was to stir the Uchiha Clan’s hatred toward Amatsukami by sparing lives but leaving behind fear and a reminder of their vulnerability.
Moving through the darkened alleys, Shisui continued his unsettling march, sowing terror among the injured and defenseless Uchiha. Each street he crossed saw the weakening of curses and the widening of fearful eyes directed at him.
BOOM!
A sudden explosion of a signal flare lit up the night sky, fired by Uchiha Yusuke’s squad. This signaled the call for rogue shinobi, bounty hunters, and wandering samurai to unleash chaos in the village.
Even amidst the chaos, Shisui remained unperturbed, trusting in Kuroto’s abilities to handle the situation with finesse. He was confident that no evidence of the Uchiha Clan’s alleged rebellion would be left behind, as Kuroto himself had dealt with the incoming forces discreetly.…
Outside the Uchiha District
Kakashi observed the entrance with a grave expression, hidden within the branches of a tree. Several dozen Anbu squads were discreetly positioned around him, their mission being to swiftly quell any sign of rebellion from the Uchiha Clan the moment its members stepped beyond the district’s boundaries. They had been strictly instructed to remain on standby until such an event occurred.
Besides Kakashi, Asuma stood, not being part of the Anbu but actively participating in this crucial assignment due to its significance. He caught a faint sound of commotion emanating from the Uchiha District and whispered to Kakashi, “Has Amatsukami already initiated their plan? What do we do, Kakashi? Should we take action as well?”
Kakashi shook his head and responded with a solemn tone, “No, Kuroto has made it clear that unless any Uchiha leaves the district, we must not act and stay on standby… He was extremely serious about it and even warned that anyone making a move prematurely would be labeled a traitor.”
Asuma sighed and remarked, “He does seem to genuinely care about the Uchiha Clan, doesn’t he?”
Kakashi nodded, agreeing, “Indeed. So, we should refrain from acting hastily.”
Asuma concurred, “I truly hope tonight proceeds according to his plan, and no Uchiha steps out. Otherwise, things will become incredibly troublesome.”
Suddenly, an explosion in the night sky caught their attention. Asuma exclaimed in surprise, “Oops, it’s the signal flare! The rebellion has officially begun!”
Kakashi turned his gaze towards the source of the signal flare and deduced, “It originated from the outer wall. It’s likely the signal they use to indicate the arrival of rogue shinobi, bounty hunters, and wandering samurai.”
Asuma resolved, “If those individuals are allowed into the village, it will be disastrous. I’ll take care of them!”
After a moment of contemplation, Kakashi nodded, “Although Kuroto mentioned handling them personally, additional support won’t hurt. All right, take five squads with you and provide the necessary backup to Kuroto. Remember, under no circumstances should those outsiders be allowed into the village!”
“Got it!” Asuma affirmed, then vanished into the night accompanied by five ANBU squads.
…
Perched atop the Hokage Building, Elder Hiruzen’s brow furrowed as he observed the striking signal flare illuminating the distant night sky. “This signal flare…” he mused.
Beside him, Elder Koharu inquired, “Does this mean the Uchiha rebellion has officially begun?”
Tsunade replied, “According to Kakashi’s report, it signifies the arrival of rogue shinobi, bounty hunters, and wandering samurai. Asuma has been dispatched with five Anbu squads to support Kuroto in countering this threat.”
Elder Hiruzen nodded, “I see…” then turned his attention to another pressing matter, “Any updates on the whereabouts of the Mizukage and Raikage?”
Tsunade’s expression turned helpless, “Our teams are still searching, but we have yet to receive any updates…”
The countenances of Elder Hiruzen grew more solemn as he contemplated the situation. “It’s nearly midnight, and there’s been no response from the Mizukage or the Raikage’s entourage. It can only mean one thing…”
Elder Koharu voiced the unsettling possibility, “Akatsuki.”
The Akatsuki Organization’s pursuit of tailed beasts was no secret, and both the Raikage and Mizukage’s entourage comprised Jinchuriki.
At that moment, Elder Hiruzen’s thoughts veered toward another concern. “Even Jiraiya hasn’t returned yet…”
Tsunade’s expression mirrored her worry, “He was supposed to drop off Naruto and Fu at Mount Myōboku and swiftly return… I don’t know what’s delaying him…”
Elder Hiruzen let out a sigh, “While the rebellion is being handled adequately, losing contact with the Jinchuriki is certainly troubling.”
…
In a different part of Konohagakure, a mysterious figure concealed in a cloak observed the distant signal flare with a malevolent grin. “The Uchiha’s rebellion seems to be in motion… but this commotion is insufficient. Let’s intensify the chaos and exert more pressure on Konoha’s top management.”
With this sinister intent, the figure vanished, reappearing shortly in front of an unremarkable house in a residential area of Konoha. Unbeknownst to most, this seemingly ordinary house served as one of the most critical ANBU bases, housing a complex network of underground passages.
Upon entering the house, the vigilant ANBU stationed there instantly launched an attack. However, the figure merely chuckled as he effortlessly immobilized the four ANBU, sending them hurtling into distant walls and trees.
Having neutralized the initial resistance, the figure proceeded further into the depths of the house. Encountering further opposition in the underground passages, he swiftly dispatched each one, leaving them either lifeless or unconscious before they could raise the alarm.
Finally, he arrived at the deepest chamber of the underground facility and beheld a massive black cubical box with an eerie grin on his face. “My intuition was correct… they had hidden it here… The Box of Ultimate Bliss!”
