Paragon of Sin

Chapter 1809 Chapter 1802: Swordsman

Void Soul Intent! Only the greatest of experts could reliably traverse the path of Intent ahead of their cultivation base, and Su Yi was undeniably proving himself today before the observing, awed gaze of trillions!

'A karmic surge of this level induced a state of great enlightenment; the Heavenly Daos sure are trying its damnedest to eke out a path of survival for him.' Wei Wuyin's thoughts were invigorated by the sight, observing the flow of interaction and the process by which the Heavenly Daos was stimulating enlightenment into the Void Soul Intent.

While he was personally ignorant of the Void Soul Intent, a level that even Zhang Jiangwen and Enlightened Sage Springfield were ignorant of, he understood that Su Yi was attempting to establish a greater form of will, a greater level of Intent. After all, as a True Void Dragon with the dual Authorities of Space and Time, he intimately felt the three dimensional layers of space, the various flows of time, and the Void's foundational energy—Void Energy—be affected by an external force, gradually initiating a type of conversion, evolving into a grade of sword energy that was not inferior to Resonant Qi of Supreme Sages or their innate energies. In fact, it almost felt as if Su Yi's will was dominating a relatively insignificant tiny portion of the vast universe, but for Su Yi, this was a godly source of power on par with genuine deities. This was Intent!

THIS WAS INTENT!!

Standing in the Void, hot blood leaking from his fingers and the edge of his blade, all of which was his own, Su Yi resembled an unfettered sword immortal that was unrivaled throughout creation. Fearless. Tyrannical. Inspiring. He embodied these aspects to an extraordinary level.

Young Master Shang watched intently as Su Yi executed his Sword Intent, unleashing a gorgeous wave of swirling sword light that enhanced his image to a visual apex, wielding his Mystic-Heaven grade treasured sword imbued with the fourth-level Nascent Sword Soul.

The Mythical Punishments didn't halt. The third one came! The prismatic beam shrouded in gold was indifferent to all epic words and impressive appearances, unleashing ruthless and lethal punishment on its target! If before, observers simply thought it was a short show with a heavy lesson against failing to uphold a Mythical Oath, then now, they were emotionally invested as Su Yi, a mere Mystic Overlord, challenged the heavens alone with just his sword. Billions gasped in shock as the third Mythical Punishment arrived!

Su Yi didn't hold back nor take a single step back. With a pair of cold eyes, he swung! A simple swing that contained his purest and most refined sword art. Within the blink of a Supreme Sage's eye, a sword light reinforced by tens of millions of complete Mystic Runes formed and struck forward with unstoppable momentum and a peerlessly sharp edge.

The sword light sent shivers down Suo Haoran, the skinny female Supreme Sage, and the Seers of the Night's Supreme Sage. The other Supreme Sages at the Microheaven Envoy Phase were similarly shocked to an unimaginable extreme, all the way to their True Souls!

The brief flash occurred once again. The collision between sword and beam ended as quickly as it arrived. The aftermath was a single figure standing in the Dark Void, unharmed.

UNHARMED!

"He perfectly resisted the punishment!" Imentet exclaimed, losing any prestigious signs of a Sage as she was reduced to an excessively beautiful spectator here. She was still broadcasting out to trillions, and countless heard her with deep shock and surprise. While those of lesser cultivation had an inkling of the important meaning of 'perfectly', only those at the Supreme Sage truly understood its meaning!

Su Yi's last sword art rivaled the conventional peak of the Microheaven Envoy Phase! While it was an outdated standard since the dawn of creation and cultivation, it did not lessen the severity of a Mystic Overlord, a mere Mystic Ascendant, was able to achieve such a feat! It was inconceivable! Utterly inconceivable!!

Cries of awe resounded throughout the galaxy! Those allies that were targeted, including Yue Baoyue, they yelped and cheered!

"He did it!" Yue Baoyue's beauty was elevated to another level as she brightly smiled with a pair of eyes that had its call for hope realized. All her confidence was regained and she felt that Su Yi was a true cultivator and swordsman of this age.

Su Yi's grip on the hilt of his sword tightened. His fingers subtly trembled. He looked at the Dark Void as if staring back at the Arbiter itself across time and space.

"Something's wrong..." Young Master Shang mumbled. Cao Cuifen's ears perked as she looked at him.

Wei Wuyin took a sip from a teacup. It was unknown when he had brewed himself a cup, but it was piping hot with an irresistible aroma. Those starry eyes of his were pushing the Celestial Eyes of Spiritual Divinity to the absolute limits. "Not enough?"

"What do you mean?" Cao Cuifen asked Young Master Shang, attracting the attention of Wei Si and the other women in the room.

Young Master Shang had a contemplative expression as if he was recalling a specific memory and comparing it to today. And when his eyes lit with realization, he said: "It's not true Void Soul Intent!"

"Void Soul Intent?" Yue Songli blinked.

Young Master Shang looked at the eyes of countless stellar region- collapsing beauties with inquiring eyes thirsting for knowledge. He could only relent and explain. Their eyes brightened as they learned that after Seed, Awakened, and World Heart for Intent was Void Soul!

Wei Wuyin listened in, similarly enlightened. 'Was it because his karmic luck was insufficient? It felt as if it was under 100,000 spent, was that the issue? Could it be that the Heavenly Daos had to prematurely unleash its fortuitous enlightenment established over a long period because of the Mythical Punishment? So that's why...'

Wei Wuyin's earlier words, 'not enough,' were because he felt as if the Heavenly Daos were receding in frustration, limited by Su Yi's karmic luck value. It felt incomplete. Su Yi's brilliance as a Blessed was thoroughly exhausted, probably less than he was while he cultivated at the Scarlet Solaris Sect. He was reduced to a Low-level Blessed.

Young Master Shang honestly explained, "I don't know much about Void Soul Intent, so I can't figure out what happened or the weird state this swordsman is in." He refused to try to conceive random assumptions about something so profound. After all, he didn't grasp Void Soul Intent. That was his mother!

"Is that why he's surviving these punishments?" Qing Qiumu asked curiously. This Void Soul Intent was that powerful?

But how was Young Master Shang supposed to know? Su Yi's current feat and cultivation base was defying all conventional understandings, even by a greater galaxy's standards. The only existence worse than Su Yi was Wei Wuyin, and who in the heavens knows what Wei Wuyin had to go through to achieve such a perverse cultivation base?

"It's likely one of many reasons," Liu Suyin answered.

Xi Ning and Cao Cuifen nodded. They were more experienced in terms of conflicts and battles, so they knew one's comprehensive combat strength was seldom singularly focused. Every little thing mattered.

"The fourth Mythical Punishment!" Hao Chengxue cried out, sending viewers to his point of view en masse.

'So close,' Su Yi thought as he took a deep breath, expelling out a wad of turbidity and blood mist. With sword in hand, his eyes focused as he circulated his cultivation to the fullest extent for the fourth time! The sword hum echoed across the galaxy! HE SWUNG! A flash of incomparably brilliant yet exceedingly brief light erupted.

When it faded, Su Yi stood there with his sword pointing down, clenched tightly by his hand and fingers. But he was covered in blood. None of his orifices weren't rivers of blood, and even several blood vessels had popped in his eyes, turning the sclera of his eyeballs crimson, almost demonically so. His robes of white were stained in his hot crimson blood.

Cold gasps resounded throughout the galaxy as they observed this lonesome and valiant figure via directly or the Spiritual Network.

Wei Wuyin realized that Su Yi was on the cusp of attaining Void Soul Intent but failed to do so in the end. His opportunity was ruined. While the Heavenly Daos had bestowed him the chance, he couldn't grasp it fully under the vicious onslaught of the Arbiter's indifferently unleashed punishment. It wasn't just the lack of Karmic Luck Value, but also his own comprehensive shortcomings and circumstances that forced such an undesirable outcome.

Unfortunately for Su Yi, this swordsman, Wei Wuyin's existence was a wrench thrown into the vast and profound machinations of the Heavenly Daos, throwing all of his grand fortunes into disarray.

Wei Wuyin didn't feel the slightest regret from the loss of Karmic Luck Value, especially as he observed the Heavenly Daos methods to stimulate Void Soul Intent within a cultivator, including Su Yi's mental fluctuations during that moment. The harvest he gained from just that alone was worth it! Worth over 100,000 Karmic Luck Value!

"No!" Yue Baoyue's confidence that was given a platform of near-invincibility collapsed almost as swiftly as it formed. The sky holding figure in her heart was bloodied beyond belief, on the verge of death.

And it was only four. FIVE MORE STILL REMAINED!

Su Yi, however, was incomparably graceful facing a difficult challenge. His cultivation base was genuinely outstanding, as a recently ascended Mystic Overlord, a cultivator at the eighth stage of the Mystic Ascendant Realm, he could resist four strikes from a conventional peak Microheaven Envoy! That was a feat that was never performed before in the Utmost Purity Galaxy. Utterly heaven defying! He had no regrets. If things work out, then they work out. If not, then he'd die an incomparably glorious death with his head held high and his spine straight.

However the Arbiter did not care about Su Yi's extraordinary will. The fifth beam arrived!

Su Yi once again drew from his cultivation base, sensing his Mystic Soul but crying out in agony and unwillingness to yield. It shared his searing emotions as it tapped into its quintessence of Mystic Power, and his body was engulfed by a misty white sword light.

He felt the infusion of great power and smiled. Without taking a single step back, he swung his sword, unleashing a gargantuan wave of cataclysmic, galaxy- ending sword light! No explosion. No violet surge of ripples or energy.

Only a flash.

Then, Su Yi's figure was only that of blood, his clothes ripped, his hair loose and as crimson as the rest of him, while his body was bruised, battered, ripped, lacerated, and crushed. Despite that, his spine remained straight and his head held high. His aura was almost non-existent.

By this point, the two Supreme Sages came to violent blows. The dwarf-sized Solar Star-esque light clashed with the Seers of the Night's Supreme Sage in a vicious frenzy, yet the black-robed woman grew in size, holding the light back with swings of her enlarged blades. She refused to let him through. From a distance of a few billion miles, ripples of Spiritual Qi unleashed soul-rending attacks that further prevented the star-like being from interfering with Su Yi's challenge.

In the Void, Dai Yangdao and the others were using every method possible to try and locate the Mythical Contract. Their desperation was reflected in various self-harming spells that damaged their foundation but still yielded no results. Yue Baoyue was in tears.

It didn't need to be said, but it was clear... Su Yi could not survive a sixth. It was impressive, no doubt, for him to have lasted this far, but his limits were reached after his Void Soul Intent was unable to actualize.

Suo Haoran couldn't help but admit in his roaring heart that Su Yi could likely fight him, potentially kill him if they fought. He would likely have to avoid his edge in any conflict. He was a peerless figure. Truly.

Wei Wuyin took another sip of tea, enjoying the flavor. The sip was quite loud in the room which was silent in shock.

Yue Baoyue's eyes were watery, leaking fear and desperation. When she turned to hear the sound of tea frantically, as if something was triggered in her mind, she recalled Wei Wuyin's earlier words: "Since you owe me your life, I'll give you an opportunity in the future. Whether you have the will to ask for it, that'll depend on you. If not, then I'll accept the final result and consider your debt settled."

It was so extremely vague that she hadn't understood what he meant. Was he offering her an opportunity that she could ask for or was he demanding her to repay him for saving her life? She was unsure. Even Su Yi's reaction felt strange to her.

Then, she recalled every instance in her life, the rampant desires of men, both weak and powerful, and how Wei Wuyin had saved her life from the schemes of Guo Heng. Throughout the galaxy, Wei Wuyin had a reputation of having multiple wives and while he didn't have the air of a womanizer, he was certainly a man of desire.....right?

She didn't have time to think about it. "Save him, and I'll do anything you want." Her voice was firm and resolved, leaking through a pair of teary eyes, and this shocked everyone present, including Imentet. She shifted the point of view to the jade table.

"Huh?" Wei Wuyin's eyes languidly shifted to Yue Baoyue. Her willingness to sacrifice everything was present in those gorgeous eyes of hers, yet they couldn't move Wei Wuyin in the slightest.

"Save him?" Wei Wuyin asked with a lifted eyebrow.

Then, he gestured with a finger, pointing at Su Yi's bloody figure projected on the screen. "He had four more, potentially five more, Mythical Punishments left. Perhaps the gods might not be able to save him."

Yue Baoyue's expression paled as her heart wavered. Was it impossible?! Her mind shuddered as it felt as if it would collapse without a foundation of hope.

"Fortunately," Wei Wuyin said cheekily, "I'm not a god."

"...!" Yue Baoyue's eyes once again ballooned with hope. "Then do it...please."

Wei Wuyin blinked. Then he smiled, "I can. But you'll have to sacrifice something of yours."

"You want my body? My Primal Yin? Or my alchemic expertise and lineage? I'll give you all of it. Just hurry!" The sensation of the Arbiter on the verge of unleashing its sixth punishment was seething in the air.

Wei Wuyin stood up. "I want just one thing: that cauldron."

"...!!!" Yue Baoyue immediately halted in shock. Her heart raced intensely as she touched her glabella instinctively. The cauldron was tethered to her soul and cultivation base, unable to be segregated easily, and doing so would cause severe damage to not only her cultivation base but the cessation of her alchemic future. It was tied to her life as she was tethered to it.

"How did you..." She wanted to ask a question but Wei Wuyin interrupted.

"You have two seconds," Wei Wuyin stated flatly. His eternal smile faded here, unleashing a profound wave of the severity of the situation into Yue Baoyue's mind.

It was such a trigger that she felt a sense of urgency, unlike anything she ever felt before. She couldn't help but speak, "I agree!"

Wei Wuyin nodded.

"Don't resist," he flickered to her side. Then, Bai Xiu transformed into a stream of light that entered Yue Baoyue's glabella. If she resisted at this moment, Bai Xiu might be assimilated by her soul. Yue Baoyue used every ounce of her willpower to not resist. It took everything to allow a foreign entity to enter her soul, sacrificing her future and present for Su Yi. However, she didn't regret it.

The Pure Utmost Cauldron and its Spirit of Dao was her greatest fortune, but she owed Su Yi everything. She was unable to stop her tears from flowing

Wei Wuyin pulled back, Bai Xiu followed, and a cauldron that greatly resembled Bai Xiu's original Pure Excellence Cauldron in tiny form was extracted that she was carrying with her two arms. Her eyes were fervent and emotional.

The sixth Mythical Punishment was about to descend!

"He can survive one more," Wei Wuyin calmly said as he looked at the screen. Imentet glided the point of view back, and Su Yi ignited his Mystic Soul at this point, fighting with his life on the line. Just as Wei Wuyin said, he survived the sixth punishment! But he was a former shadow of his unfettered self, no longer as peerless and immortal-like as before, casting a melancholic image of a single swordsman fighting against the unjust world. Then, he ripped the contract asunder. Timing.
