In the next week or so, the second isolation barrier had been named the Royal Ress Farms for simplicity’s sake as well as to commemorate the king’s efforts to put the farms up in new lands. At this point, the refugees who had been working on the sidelines had been finally given the opportunity to explore and take charge of such lands.
This was part of the promise that the King had made which was somewhat unpopular to the people of Ress. It was mainly their effort to take it back but their majesty reminded them that half of the Rifle Mages who had risked their lives to get the Royal Ress Farms back were actually the refugees.
He had purposely made it in such a way so that the refugees would be integral to the Ress’ economy once they took back the land.
This was also because the surrounding kingdoms took Ress’ closure of borders as a good sign to throw each and every refugee that they had to Ress and they would not need to care about them at all. Hence it was why Lyrians, who had been bestowed the chance to stay in the northern regions once more, were grateful to Jin’s arrangement and decision.
To Minister Topharm, he honestly believed this was the right way to bring up an alliance in the future when they break off from Ress…or that was what he assumed if the King had the heart to do so. Otherwise, what he believed Jin would do was create a vassal nation and let them be within his so called kingdom.
But with the firepower that Topharm had heard and witnessed through the magic eye, he believed that it was not impossible for their King to conquer the surrounding kingdoms and revamp them into an Empire.
It would not take long for Jin to do so if he put his mind to it, especially after how Topharm saw his determination to retake the northern lands to make such a statement. At the same time, it was rather wild for him to see the changes that were made in the surrounding lands as well. Telescopic Vision Magic had been employed at the highest level of the warehouse tower that Jin had made.
Of course, it was used as a warehouse but at the top most level, because of its height, the military intelligence had been employed 24/7 to look at how the rest of the kingdoms were dealing with the monsters.
The Star Foxes who had been previously employed for the operation were sent en mass to the rest of the kingdom’s past ’friends’ to see how they had been coping and because they had Odin’s Jewels as their prized equipment, most of them were able to keep what they had saw and transmit the information back when the Star Foxes were in a safe place to do so.
It did not take long for Kraft to see the desperate surprised face that each and every king had when they heard that the Demons were at their doorstep. There was no time to think about defeating Ress for now as some of the Demons got tired of waiting at Ress’ isolation barriers and realised that there were actually greener pastures that they did not have any idea about. At first, it was merely one or two lone wolf attacks from the Demons but it seemed like the information had been passed to the other demons, enabling them to ignore the isolation barrier for now and go deeper into the other kingdom’s territory. It was at that time, their military had no choice but to send their best to handle these demons.
This gave Ress Military Intelligence an inkling of how strong their elites were when they fought against the demons and it also gave Jin an understanding of how each of the kingdoms had operated. Apparently, after deciphering the information from the earlier few waves of attacks, it started to look as if Jin had fallen into a medieval based game.
The East had good cavalries while the West possessed strong defenders. The South mainly used archers and whether they were good merely playing with time, one had to wait for more data but that was generally the consensus. The South East had some sort of dark knights, who used dark based magic along with their brilliant swordsmanship but the South West did not have any specialties at all.
They were the only outlier as they used a combination of troops to keep the demons at bay.
It did not take long for the Ress Intelligence to figure out that there the surrounding kingdoms were actually losing the battles despite sending elites onto the battlefield. "How did Ress and the rest bordering the regions able to last so long against the demons after they claimed the Northern Region?" Jin asked Topharm and he could not give a proper answer.
"Believe it or not, the demons felt comfortable drawing a line between them and us. It was to the point where if we do not disturb them in the Northern Regions, they will not come and bother us. However, there were still isolated attacks and we were still able to defend against such assaults." Topharm explained.
"So, they did not display such aggressive behaviour until we poked them?" Jin asked and Topharm nodded his head. Explore stories on
"We might be able to preoccupy them with the surrounding kingdoms but I had a hunch that they would wish to attack the Royal Ress Farms since we killed quite a lot to gain back that. And it is especially so now that they saw how our mages were capable of flying for almost a day and killing their people off."
"So expect more flying creatures eh? You heard that Gara and Kraft?" Jin said and they already knew what kind of extra training was needed to be given to the military mages.
"But what we are more concerned about are the numbers," Gara replied. "If we really wish to take back Lyro and judging how they had thrown an EX-F rank at us, more of such ranks would appear.
"Don’t worry. Let me settle that. For now, concentrate on building Ress Royal Farms and I will see to the matter of additional reinforcements." Jin said as he finally thought of what he had to summon using the dungeon portals.
