After Jiraiya left, Shin glanced at Gamabunta, who was returning to Mount Myōboku.

Gamabunta was unaware that something extra had been added to it on its return trip—a Flying Thunder God mark.

Shin was, of course, the one who had placed it there.

“This trip wasn’t a complete waste. I found the location of Mount Myōboku—” Shin smiled faintly. He wanted to meet Gamamaru, the Great Toad Sage.

The Toad Sage possessed vast knowledge.

Gamamaru, Having guided Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki in mastering Sage Mode and possessing the ability to see the future through his dreams—was a valuable source of information.

Shin didn’t leave immediately. He turned his attention to the ongoing battle between Kimimaro and Guy.

Guy, with six gates open, was formidable, but he still couldn’t defeat Kimimaro.

Kimimaro fought with all his might, heedless of the cost. Though at a disadvantage against Guy’s attacks, he hadn’t been defeated.

“<Eight Inner Gates: Gate of Wonder—Open!>”

This was the seventh of the Eight Inner Gates, the gate before the Gate of Death. Opening it placed an immense burden on Guy.

Blue steam, generated by evaporating sweat, enveloped his body. The chakra erupting from him surpassed that of a peak Kage.

The explosive power of the Eight Inner Gates was indeed terrifying. Its only drawback was its short duration; most ninja physiques couldn’t sustain it for long.

After Guy opened the seventh gate, his hair stood on end, and his eyes showed only the whites, the pupils no longer visible.

An uninformed observer might mistake Guy for a Hyūga clansman.

“<Daytime Tiger!>”

Opening the seventh gate, Guy immediately unleashed his killing move. After all, the shorter the duration of the seventh gate, the better.

“<Shikotsumyaku: Dance of the Seedling Fern!>”

Kimimaro also used his strongest killing technique, as if it were his final swan song. Countless bones erupted from the ground, transforming the entire base into a hell of white bones.

“DIE!”

A spear formed from bone thrust towards Guy.

Guy’s fist launched a tiger-shaped high-pressure air bullet, tearing through all the bones and lunging towards Kimimaro.

This was the first time Guy had fought an enemy with his full strength, and also the first time he had used the Daytime Tiger. Guy himself didn’t know its true power.

BOOOOOOOOM!

Orochimaru’s base was completely destroyed. The shockwave rippled out for several kilometers—all caused by Guy’s Daytime Tiger.

Kimimaro was dead.

He couldn’t withstand the Daytime Tiger’s attack—Honestly, facing an attack of this magnitude, even Itachi Uchiha’s Susanoo would be torn apart.

In the original story, Guy had severely injured Kisame with a single Daytime Tiger. Kisame’s strength, within the Akatsuki, was at least upper-middle tier.

Guy knelt on the ground, his entire body wracked with needle-like pain. He couldn’t even move a finger.

The aftermath of using the Eight Inner Gates was likely even more painful than using Susanoo with the Mangekyō Sharingan.

“An impressive attack. I’m even more interested in the Eight Inner Gates now.” Shin nodded with satisfaction, then left.

He’d visit Mount Myōboku sometime and have a chat with the Toad Sage. But not now.

He had to get back to the Land of Whirlpools in time for dinner.

Shin arrived just as Mikoto was finishing up.

“I made extra, just in case you came back,” Mikoto said.

“That means I’m lucky!” Shin replied with a smile. He then scanned the table; most of the dishes were fish. It seemed Kushina and the others had gone fishing.

“Did you go fishing?”

“Yes. Mei Terumī dragged us along. Look at this giant crab! Isn’t it huge?” Kushina held up a massive crab, gesturing towards Shin.

The crab was indeed enormous. Enough to feed three people—though not Kushina. She could probably eat ten crabs that size.

After dinner, Shin couldn’t resist pulling Mikoto towards her room. As for what would happen next… Tsunade and the others knew all too well.

“He went to Mikoto again? That jerk!” Kushina grumbled, quite annoyed.

“Are you… jealous, Kushina?” Tsunade glanced at Kushina.

“Of course! Don’t you want him to come to your room?” Kushina asked, looking at Tsunade. Then she turned to Konan. “Konan, don’t you want your Shin-nii to spend time with you?”

“Kushina-nee… why are you asking me…?” Konan covered her face, embarrassed.

“Konan is still so shy. I can’t resist teasing you!” Kushina sat down beside Konan and started pinching her cheeks.

“I can’t stand bullies like you, Kushina! Konan, it’s time to fight back! How about we team up and punish Kushina?” Mei Terumī asked Konan.

Konan looked at Mei Terumī, then quickly moved away. Kushina, seeing this, immediately pounced on Mei Terumī.

“What you just said… I can’t pretend I didn’t hear it! Mei Terumī, PREPARE TO DIE!” Kushina began tickling Mei Terumī, while Tsunade and Mikoto watched, amused.

“Hanabi, what are you doing?” Hinata found Hanabi and Karin eavesdropping at Mikoto’s door and couldn’t help but ask.

“Shh! Be quiet, Big Sister!” Hanabi surreptitiously glanced towards the living room. Seeing Kushina and the others hadn’t heard, she breathed a sigh of relief.

“What are you doing?” Hinata also deliberately lowered her voice and asked Karin and Hanabi.

“N-Nothing…” Hanabi’s eyes darted around, then she quickly signaled Karin for help.

“Y-You guys… you wouldn’t be eavesdropping, would you?” Hinata glanced at Mikoto’s door.

Thinking about Shin and Mikoto being inside together, her face instantly turned crimson, steam puffing from her head.

“Oh no! Big Sister is going to faint from shyness!” Hanabi, seeing Hinata’s state, knew her sister was probably about to pass out.

Hanabi knew her sister well; if Hinata got too embarrassed, she would faint. Hanabi had seen her sister faint several times already. She was much better now; before, she would faint from shyness at the slightest provocation.

Before Hinata collapsed, Karin managed to catch her, preventing her from falling to the ground.

“Let’s take Hinata to her room first. And stop eavesdropping here. If we get caught, we’ll be in trouble,” Karin said to Hanabi.

Most importantly, even if they eavesdropped, they wouldn’t hear anything. The soundproofing was too good.

Hanabi nodded.

If they were caught, they’d definitely be in trouble. She quickly helped carry her fainted sister away.
