At Lady Ezaya’s objection, the Queen Mother turned to give her a slightly unpleased look, scowling for getting in her way.

Lady Inayah’s voice currently had a very didactic undertone to it that mysteriously made anyone think twice before defying her. This was one of the skills she had developed over her long experience as a teacher.

And faced with Lady Inayah literally pushing the item against Seelima’s face and the Queen Mother knowing her own nature, even though deeply embarrassed, finally relented.
