GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2205 - 2205: Too Confident.

While their three hammers went ahead, Legion followed from behind. They were secretive about their movements and didn’t want both their slaves and the target to know what they planned to do.

Even they hadn’t made up their minds about what they wanted to do yet.

They would like the man to rethink his request after being asked by three rank 4 godclads. They are hoping that the man will take their three slaves seriously now.

In the case that their hope is for naught, then they will follow the man to their hideout base first. Once they know where the man lives, they will be able to plan robbing him better.

They are being cautious because the meeting is in the inner city, and Reinfield is not like Ivory Town. The owners of Reinfield care a lot about the security of their inner city and will take an attack there seriously.

Apart from the fact that their slaves don’t need to know their true plans, they also didn’t tell them because they didn’t want the three of them to tip the man off in any way.

If the man is tipped off, he might run away like the person who wanted to help Black Mantis escape but ran away when Legion tried to arrange a meeting with them.

The three hammers all went to meet the man at the same time. All three of them went to the meeting, not one, and all three of them were rank 4. It was an intimidating sight.

But the epic being didn’t appear intimidated when he saw them. He smiled and said, “It seems both of my guesses were right. You three work together, and you’ve recently begun to work together with a rank 3 telepath.”

The meeting was on the second floor of the restaurant. It was by a table with a window overlooking the street, so the four of them could see the road while chatting.

The three hammers sat down and sipped their teas. They were listening to Legion’s orders to know what to say.

After receiving their instructions, Fast Hammer asked the man, “Why do you say that?”

The man tilted his head and asked, “Which one? The fact that you three are working together or that you’re working with a rank 3 telepath?”

He replied without waiting for them to specify. “I came to the conclusion that the three of you were working together because I am a telepath myself. I can read minds and acquire a large range of information easily.”

When Legion heard this, they turned back and increased the distance between them and the man.

They didn’t do so because they were afraid of the man. They did so because they didn’t want the man to sense the lurking.

They can easily kill the man. They are sure of that. But they don’t want things to get complicated right now. They would rather catch the man off guard and have a secret meeting with him somewhere private.

Meanwhile, the man continued confidently as if he hadn’t just exposed dangerous information about himself.

“As for how I know that you’re working together with a rank 3 telepath, I didn’t get that information from your minds. All I got from your mind last time that you met with me was that you were working for a great person and you must get that great person what they want.”

“You were quite adamant about that. You kept thinking about it over and over again. You’re still thinking about it right now.”

“Anyway, I guessed that the person is a rank 3 telepath because they asked you for a rank 4 divine flesh of the pathway of the telepath. It could be that they were asking for the divine flesh to give it to another person, but I didn’t count on it.”

The man clapped with glee and said, “My guesses have been proven correct because you three have advanced things to rank 4. I believe that it was the telepath that helped you stabilize your minds and advance easily.”

Golden Hammer finished stuffing his face with cookies and cakes. Then he said, “Whatever. Are you going to give us what we want, or do we have to make this violent first?”

He smashed his two fists together and said, “I’m sure that if we kill you, we should be able to get what we want. It will just take a little more work. But since it will save me some cash, I don’t mind the extra work.”

The man wasn’t scared by the threats. Instead, he chuckled and said, “I didn’t ask to meet the person who needs the divine flesh because I didn’t take your strength seriously. I asked them to meet with me because I wanted to introduce them to my organization.”

He shook his head and said, “You should know that telepaths are discriminated against. We are discriminated against because we possess a set of tools that others don’t possess and are able to fight on a level that others can’t respond to.”

“So they want to get rid of us. This is why we telepaths should work together. Anyway, your guy won’t be able to get the divine flesh unless he joins my organization. As for you guys killing me to get my divine flesh, I’m afraid that you’re not capable of it.”

He sipped his drink and said, “I’m not saying you’re not strong. I’m sure that you’re very strong. But while I will be able to at least try to defend against your attacks, you won’t be able to see my attacks coming or defend yourself from them at all.”

“Not to mention that I can read your minds and use the information I acquire that way to anticipate your attacks. I can even hypnotize you and make you give up on fighting. I might make you fight each other instead. There are just so many things I can do that you won’t be able to stop.”
