Chapter 665: Blind [Bonus]
Sylas almost became addicted to the feeling. Glass quickly formed around him in intricate patterns, but they would break apart into a storm of silvery-blue sand before reforming into solid shards of Glass.
He could freely decide between using the more solid form of Glass and the more particle-sized form. The latter drained Wisdom at a far greater rate, but it had its own uses and application.
It had to be remembered that this Glass Path still carried a poison character that was particularly good at attacking inorganic matter.
If Sylas used the large glass shards, it would be far more difficult to make use of this ability. But, if he used the Glass Sand form, then he could bury it into the crevices and hidden nooks of his opponent’s Skills and Treasures, destroying them from the inside out.
‘To think that a Silver Class would only use 20 and 30 Foundation Runes at best. Just how much potential is left over for higher level Runes?’
Sylas didn’t plan on improving the Foundations. Instead, he planned to entirely focus on the Mastery.
Elevating the Foundations would be far too difficult and would defeat the ease of use of everything. If he had to put effort into controlling the Runes and forming himself, then what would be the point of his Class?
Part of the power of his Gene Class Form was just how easy it was to use.
With a thought, Sylas formed a dozen shards of Glass, each of which could deal 1000 Damage. In a single round of attacks, most opponents would be finished. They would have to somehow be capable of either offsetting 12,000 Damage or dodging. But just how difficult would it be to dodge when Sylas had telekinesis? Something even the Glass Monkey didn’t have?
What about when his telekinesis was stacked with <King’s Shift> on top of that, allowing for sudden and abrupt changes in momentum?
The Class left Sylas feeling endlessly satisfied. A part of him even felt that even if he had to give up a path to Gold and Legendary, it would be fine.
Of course, he would never do this. It would be far too short-sighted of him. If a Silver Class was this good, then he could only imagine how good a Gold one would be, and a Legendary one beyond that.
And even then, he had room for a second Class.
Sylas was spending quite a lot of time thinking about the Gene Class Form, when in reality there were far more benefits than just this alone.
For example, his Aether skin had undergone a drastic change. Not only was it capable of 2000 Defense all on its own now, but it even seemed to have a semi-reflective property.
This reflectiveness wasn’t for Physical attacks, but rather just for Aether. It could repel pure Aether attacks beneath the 2000 Attack threshold, not only saving Sylas from having to pour more Aether into it, but also forcing an enemy to deal with their own blow to some extent.
Then there was the change to Sylas’ Will itself. It felt more tangible now than it ever had before, changing from a flickering flame to the form of a Glass tree.
What made Sylas feel especially shocked was that now, all he needed to do was silently meditate and the whispers of Glass Runes would come to him naturally.
He realized that this might mean that he could improve the Foundation of the Runes of <Glass Prism Arts> without much effort on his part at all.
But, it didn’t seem as easy to meditate on Runes as it was in the past. There seemed to be a cap placed not by Mancer’s Blossom any longer, but rather his own Will.
From what Sylas could see, he still couldn’t see 40 Foundation Runes through Mancer’s Blossom. Meaning, he wouldn’t be able to improve <Glass Prism Arts> like he expected.
But…
‘If I strengthen my Will further, will I be able to unlock it?’
Sylas went through a wave of emotions before he even got to <Glassveil Shift>.
Ever since he saw the abilities of <Shadow Warp>, Sylas had wanted such an ability. In the Frostbane Sylph Dungeon, he had gotten <Frostbane Escape>, but he had unfortunately been unable to use it. 𝔯ά𝐍ö₿Èʂ

[Frostbane Escape (FFF-) (Race Skill)]
[Deconstruct the body into Frostbane Runes and reappear in any location with <10> meters with sufficient Frostbane Aether concentration]
[Note: Limited to Elemental Races]

Unfortunately, that Limited to Elemental Races aspect had really pigeonholed him, making the Skill entirely useless to him.
But now he had a warp Skill that he could finally use himself.
‘I’ll need to find time to drill it properly. Warp Skills take a notoriously long time to cast and aren’t usually viable in the middle of battle. It’s also a bit disappointing that an F+ Gene Skill would not only cost far more than an FFF- Skill, but also have the same teleportation range at the Fragmented Mastery level… but I guess this is the price for being able to use an ability like this one without being of a special Race…’
20 Units of Aether was more than a fifth of his current base Intelligence. But it was worth it if it would save his life at a critical point.
Plus… once his Mastery increased, it wouldn’t be so steep a price.
Sylas’ head suddenly turned in a direction as he sensed several figures approaching. However, they weren’t enemies. He felt the presence of Alex immediately, and then there was Cole and his family.
Sylas wasn’t sure why they had exited so much later than he had, but given the time dilation, even a difference of a split second could be quite a while, so though he slotted the thought to the back of his mind, he didn’t put too much stock into it.
Alex gazed around for a moment before his gaze locked onto Sylas.
“You know the portals around here quite well, right?” Sylas asked, recalling that Alex had a map of the portals in the region thanks to Legacy.
“I do.”
“Then do you know of any that have shortcuts back to Terranova?”
Sylas already felt like the answer would be yes before he asked. In fact, he already had his next plans laid out.
The Woodland Territory could wait. He would return for its Aether Stone Mine after he retrieved the Basilisk Skin Armor from Cassarae.
It was time he got more aggressive with how he dealt with the powers of Earth…
And he would start by robbing the Africor Continent blind.
