Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy

Chapter 2402: Creation Categories

While Alex spent his time trying to learn more about the aura from the Voidgate, he talked with Rosemist about what Creations he should aim for. There was no way he was going to tell her about his 8 Origins, so he made sure to phrase the questions as inquiries into some possible options.

Rosemist was happy to hear Alex was moving on from his idea of making the real Sun his Creation. She was more than willing to give him ideas.

She began with an explanation of what Creations were and how they were categorized. While Alex had been taught about Creations before, he didn't stop her from giving her own explanation.

Creations were divided into two major categories according to Rosemist, each of which was further separated into two subcategories.

The first category was called Living Creations, which was further divided into Beast Creations and Plant Creations. One could make beasts or plants their Creations, which granted different abilities.

Beast Creations allowed the cultivator the power of Transformation, enabling them to turn into a beast. It was no different from what beasts could do when they reached the Immortal realm. The transformation cost little Qi, and once transformed, the cultivator could remain in beast form for a long time. However, they could never manifest the Beast outside their own body.

Plant Creations allowed the cultivator the power of Genesis, enabling them to create the plant directly outside their body. Plants also granted the power of partial transformation, allowing the cultivator to turn parts of their body into plants. The cost to maintain the transformation, however, was not cheap.

The two types of Living Creations were quite different from each other while sharing certain similarities.

Rosemist mentioned that neither of these Creations was commonly used by humans and were more often a specialty of Beasts and Plants.

Alex understood why Plants would create such Creations, but he asked about Beasts. Why would they want to make a Creation that replicated themselves? It turned out he had misunderstood. Rosemist had never said they needed to create a Creation of their own species.

They could make a Creation that belonged to a different beast, allowing them to transform into it. While there weren't many advantages to this, there was one significant benefit: if one transformed into a creature higher up in their evolutionary chain, the transformation greatly increased the chances of true evolution.

If Pearl had always been just a White Cat, then in the Divine realm, he could choose to have a Creation of the White Tiger. Transforming into a White Tiger would give him a more than decent chance of becoming a real White Tiger.

Alex was happy to understand more, but did that have anything to do with him? Did he want a beast as a Creation?

He didn't dismiss the idea immediately and asked Rosemist for suggestions. After hearing everything she proposed, he shook his head. None of them felt right for him.

The best he could likely achieve was becoming a White Tiger. But even then, there was no practical benefit for him. His physical body was already far superior.

Rosemist continued to explain the second category of Creations, which she called Tool Creations.

A Tool was everything that was not a Beast or a Plant. In truth, this category could have been named something more akin to Miscellaneous Creations.

They were divided into two subcategories: Independent Creations and Dependent Creations.

Dependent Creations required an existing object to exist as their medium. Without something to occupy, these Creations could not exist outside of the cultivator's Spiritual sea. Independent Creations, as their name suggested, required no medium and could manifest on their own. However, that didn't mean they couldn't work through something appropriate—they simply didn't rely on it.

Of the Creations Alex had seen, two stood out as clear examples of these subcategories.

Blackfrost, the guild leader of the Blackfrost Guild where Alex had first met Silvermist, could create dark frost around him without any medium. This was an Independent Creation.

On the other hand, Frosteyes, one of the 15 Peaks of the Blue Silk Sect, had a Creation that caused her eyes to change color every time she attempted to see the future. Her Creation used her eyes as a medium, making it a Dependent Creation.

Just because Dependent Creations needed something else to rely on to exist didn't meant that they were by any sense inferior to Independent Creations, neither were they easier to create.

Upon learning all of this, Alex began to think seriously about what he could use for his 8 Creations.

Beast Creations were off the table, as he had no interest in them. None seemed worthwhile to him.

Plant Creations, however, were something to consider. It was highly unlikely Alex could use one of the Demonic Plants as a Creation, so for the moment, he set his sights on the Nine Yang Divine Tree. If he could replicate the aura of the plant within his Soul Space, it would likely be the only Plant Creation he would choose until he learned about something better.

As for Tool Creations, Alex had already decided on the Sun, which would be an Independent Creation. But now the Sword troubled him.

So much had changed and improved that the original reason for choosing the Sword no longer applied. He had wanted a Sword Creation to emulate Reverend Sixghost, who wielded six sabers at once.

However, since Alex could no longer replicate that Creation, having a separate sword besides Midnight didn't make sense anymore. He wasn't a dual sword wielder after all. What he truly needed was a proper Dependent Sword Creation that would complement Midnight, merging into something greater.

'It can't just be any sword then,' Alex thought. 'It needs to be something fully compatible with Midnight. I'll need to consider my options more carefully.'

Gaining solid knowledge about the categories helped him make better-informed decisions.

"Thank you for the explanation," Alex said to Rosemist. "Can you tell me what you suggest I get as a Creation then?"
