Earth's Greatest Magus

Chapter 2434: Valaryn battle 7

The tremors grew into violent earthquakes, shaking the very core of the land. The ground beneath Citadel City groaned and cracked as the entire city seemed to buckle under the force of the impact. The shifting sands and mountains quivered, sending violent ripples through the earth.

Orcs and warriors alike staggered, unable to maintain their footing as the ground bucked and churned beneath them. Many fell, losing their balance as the earth trembled with an unrelenting fury. Some of the already damaged walls crumbled, further adding to the chaos. It felt as if the world itself was coming apart.

At first, the warriors believed it to be a result of one of the Grand Magus' spells, forceful manipulation of the earth beneath them. But those with deeper magical awareness knew better. The experienced magus could sense anomalies within the quakes, subtle shifts that hinted at something far more unnatural.

The earth groaned as it began to split open, revealing deep chasms below. A violent wind howled through the rifts, carrying with it powerful, sealed energies that had been trapped beneath the surface for ages. The air grew thick with tension as sandstorms erupted, sweeping across hundreds of miles in a matter of minutes. The swirling storm of dust and debris created an impenetrable barrier, blinding all those caught within it.

Elven warriors, orcs, and humans—were left disoriented and helpless, unable to continue their fights under the onslaught of the storm. Only the magus, whose senses were sharpened beyond that of normal mortals, could still fight. But even their efforts were hindered by the surging winds and dense sand.

On the edge of the battlefield, Agis the Red Demon stood, watching the chaos unfold with narrowed eyes. "Is this their secret weapon? It's the planet's guardian, isn't it?" he muttered under his breath. "I thought the report said it died 1000 years ago!"

His words hung in the air for a moment, but before he could process the implications, the ground began to tremble even more violently. Something massive was coming.

The earth split open further as gigantic creatures began to emerge from the cracks, their enormous forms forcing their way through the soil. Massive, writhing worms, each one more than 500 meters long, burst through the surface, their jagged, fang-like teeth gleaming in the light. The creatures moved through the sand with eerie grace, like fish swimming through a pond, their sheer size dwarfing everything around them.

"What is that?!" "Run!"

"Chiwwikk! Chiwwikk!"

The worms surged forward, their huge bodies crashing through the sandstorm and ripping through the elven forces in their path. The elves had no chance to react before the worms barreled into them, crushing their ranks.

Draven, one of the hulking Elven Grand Magus, charged forward without hesitation, his enormous frame cutting through the sandstorm as he advanced toward one of the giant worms. With a roar, he slammed into its body, tearing a massive wound into the worm's side. The creature shrieked in pain as it convulsed violently before it collapsed, its life extinguished in a single blow.

"Hahah, what a joke!" Draven laughed, reveling in the display of his power. But his satisfaction was short-lived.

From the massive wound in the worm's body, a cloud of tiny, insect-like creatures exploded out, charging toward him.

The dark elf grand magus could easily destroy the insects with its aura, all crushed before its sharp teeth touched his flesh. However, the elven warriors near him met a terrifying fate. They screamed in pain as their bodies were devoured by the creature, dying within seconds, leaving only their bones behind.

It didn't end there. More creatures emerged from the carcasses of the first wave of worms—swarms of insect-like creatures that descended upon the battlefield with terrifying speed. Their small size made them almost impossible to spot in the storm, but their numbers were overwhelming. Hundreds of thousands of them swarmed from the gaping wounds of the worms, their sharp mandibles clicking ominously as they flew toward the elven ranks.

"What kind of creature is this?!" Draven shouted. "Do not kill the giant worm!"

But it was too late. His warning came too late for the other Grand Magus, who, like him, had made the same mistake. The elven forces, already battered by the sandstorm and the giant worms, were now besieged by swarms of insects. Screams echoed through the battlefield as the insects attacked with savage hunger, tearing into the flesh of the elven warriors. Even the magus-realm warriors had to suffer, struggling to defend against the terrifying creatures.

The situation quickly spiraled out of control. The human Grand Magus seized the opportunity, using the chaos to press forward. The sandstorm did little to hinder them; they fought on, unaffected by the flying creatures and the storm's ferocity.

On the ground, the human warriors began to retreat into the inner parts of the citadel. Three Grand Magus stood at three corners, weaving complex defensive formations to hold back the tide of destruction. With their combined power, they began to create a barrier strong enough to protect the inner city, the last refuge for the humans.

From his vantage point, Agis the Red Demon could see the unfolding disaster with cold detachment. His lips curled into a cruel smile as he watched the elven forces struggle.

"Good! It's my time to join the battle!" he bellowed, his voice filled with excitement.

Without hesitation, Agis leaped atop his crimson dragon, a monstrous creature of flame and fury. With a roar, the dragon soared into the air, its wings cutting through the sandstorm as Agis directed it toward the heart of the battlefield.

Flames licked the edges of his form as he tore through the air, using the heat of his fire magic to scorch anything in his path. The sandstorm became a raging inferno in his wake, and anything that came too close to him was incinerated in a burst of flame.

The sky trembled under his fury as he blasted his way toward the center of Citadel City, his dragon cutting a path of destruction through the battlefield. His objective was clear: destroy the inner city's defensive formation and kill anything that stopped him.

But standing in his way was General Wyne, who had anticipated this move. With a steely gaze, Wyne stood firm, blocking Agis' path.

"Hah! Just you alone?" Agis taunted, his voice filled with disdain. "You are overestimating yourself!"

The stage was set for an epic clash—Agis, the Red Demon, against General Wyne, the stalwart protector of Citadel City. The fate of the battlefield hung in the balance as the two powerful forces prepared to collide.
