Death... and me

Chapter 3600: Not a Moron

Chapter 3600: Not a Moron

The twins looked over as well, surprised. Not only them, but Celis was especially affected by what he saw. If the reserves of Divine Energy were what affected the scores, then he was pretty sure their Globe would end up in first place. But that wasn’t the case. Instead, their Self-Defense Globe came in second!

Each slot where the Globes found themselves had a number, a simple one to six. The earliest Globe to arrive was in the number one slot, and the next ones occupied the next numbers. The twins’ globe, obviously, was in the number five slot.

However, when looking at the score on the projection above the ring, their Number Five Self-Defense Globe only occupied the second position. The first position was actually the Self-Defense Globe number four, the same Globe from the Demon Fish called Hian. As for the Camazotz Bat Gratiti’s Globe, they were only third!

Hian looked at that, and the other experts in his globe nodded, satisfied. They weren’t aware of what they would find at the end of the Molten Ocean. However, when they read about the score explanation, they understood they most likely had a very good chance as well. That’s because the Demon Fishes, who were from a race called Purple Sponge Betta, were extremely adept at Divine Energy Absorption.

Each one of them couldn’t really match up to Celis’s absorption prowess. You would need at least three of them to achieve that, and that’s because those three were in the Divinity Realm. However, Hian’s group, which came from F952 Universe, had a total of ten of those Demon Fishes. The other three groups in his globe had only six or seven members to complete the necessary 30 members of a Globe.

Whatever artifact Grititi’s Camazotz Bats had, or whatever Energy Absorption Progress Celis had, neither of them could make up to ten of those Demon Fishes at the same time. They were so good that they could even share some of their Divine Energy with the others, similar to Celis, but not as good. Of course, the other members of their Globe’s groups wouldn’t be able to use that Divine Energy for cultivation, but it wouldn’t be a big problem if they used the shared energy just to fuel their own platforms. Thus, Hian’s Number Four Self-Defense Globe acquired the first place.

"This must be a mistake! There is no way you could beat us!" Grititi gritted his teeth, complaining at Hian.

Hian was a calm Demon and didn’t seem to care about Grititi’s outburst. "Don’t blame the player. Blame the game."

*Zum...*

The Ring Projection changed, and now all the energy accumulated from the various Globes rushed into Hian’s Team’s Globe instead, including the energy from the twins’ group.

This was the first time the twins truly lost the initiative and were left with nothing to do other than wait for someone else’s decision in this Palace. If Hian doesn’t select them and leave their Globe behind, chances are the Red Smoke will rush inside, and there will be nothing they can do. Of course, they could try to run away, but who knows if their own Self-Defense Globe will even work after this?

Hian’s Team’s Globe was now brimming with that gray energy inside. Without their input, their Self-Defense Globe took off from its slot and positioned itself right at the center of the ring construction.

*Bzzzz...*

Finally, the energy inside shot upwards, and it broke into space itself. Another portal opened in the next moment. Just like the previous portal, this seemed to be a place where spatial tunnels could be opened, but only those opened by the Golden Palace’s own apparatuses.

*Bang, bang, boom, kabrum!*

Several experts started to attack the invisible barrier around their own Globes and the Globes themselves. Since the portal was open, why wait for Hian to decide anything? They might as well rush into the portal by themselves! It was definitely better than waiting for Hian to select someone. Besides, the ring construction had absorbed all of their Globes’ energy, so the barrier around them shouldn’t be that strong anymore, right?

Wrong!

Not only did they not succeed in breaking the invisible barrier or the globes, but it felt like both were even more resistant now!

"They aren’t very brilliant, that’s for sure," Roan commented. If the setups of this Golden Palace were that easy to break, then everyone would become Celestial Realm experts in this place.

Hian looked at that and sighed.

*Zum!*

Another bunch of words appeared again, getting everyone’s attention.

-The Globe Number Four’s Experts can now select the other two globes to be transferred to the next region. Please make a decision within a minute. Otherwise, two Globes will be selected at random. It is not possible to not bring another two globes and their experts with you.-

Hian looked at his companions, who just nodded back at him so he could make the decision. He didn’t select straight away and looked at the other three groups inside his own Self-Defense Globe. Let’s not forget each globe had four groups, and each group of a Globe came from a different Universe. Their opinions were also valid.

"Thanks to you, we are now guaranteed into the next region," one of the leaders of those groups spoke. "That said, my group won’t bother with whatever Globe you select to go to the next region."

The other two groups’ leaders also nodded. They left that decision with Hian and his Purple Sponge Betta Race.

"Very well," Hian took their word for it and began to scan the various groups around.

It goes without saying that he also began to receive many Divine Sense messages. Everyone was offering different things to Hian to make him select their Globes.

"Hey!" Shonror from the twins’ Globe spoke out loud. "You would better select us. Look at our experts. We have two Space-Time and even five Elemental Space Realm experts. If you think about the competition later, our group would definitely be the one to give you the least amount of trouble."

The other Globes’ experts gritted their teeth, but they couldn’t refute Shonror’s words. Indeed, if they were in Hian’s shoes, they would have picked the twins’ Globe exactly for that motive.

So what if Hian could gain a lot more rewards by selecting other Globes? In the end, he and the others are here for the Celestial Realm Breakthrough, nothing else! With that, they were certain Hian would select the twins’ Globe, which was the Number Five. The only doubt now was which would be the last Globe he would select.

Well, Hian did not live up to their expectations. "We select Globes Number Six and Two."

Shonror and everyone inside the twins’ Globe were taken aback! He selected the Globes that only had Divinity Realm experts! Well, all the other globes only had experts at that level anyway. But still, why would he pass the chance of having easier competition by selecting the twins’ Globe? "Are you kidding me?! How can you be such an idiot?!" Shonror and the others were cursing nonstop.

The Ring Construct lit up, and the two Globes Hian selected floated as well. The three Globes then began to fly in the Portal’s direction while the other Globes’ Experts couldn’t do anything.

Still, Hian felt like he should at least say something, seeing that even his own companions seemed confused by his decision.

"I always trusted my instincts," he said and then glanced at Rean and Roan, who hadn’t said anything even after his decision to not select their Globe, "and those two give me the creeps!"

Finally, the three Self-Defense Globes disappeared, leaving the twins’ Globe, the Camazotz Bats’ Globe, and one more behind.

Roan couldn’t help but nod slightly. "I guess not everyone is a complete moron in this place."
